Chef Paulinus Okon is a respected leader in the culinary industry and a driving force behind the professionalization of culinary arts in Nigeria. As the Initiator and National President of the Association of Professional Chefs Nigeria (APCN), he has built one of the country’s most influential platforms for chefs, uniting practitioners to set standards, foster training, and promote Nigerian cuisine globally.
As CEO of Food Explorer Nigeria, Chef Paulinus combines business acumen with culinary expertise to advance food innovation, hospitality consulting, and chef development. Dr. Raphael James is a development strategist, researcher, and cultural preservationist whose work bridges information management, literacy advocacy, tourism, and human capital development. A native of Abia State, married from Ogun State, and based in Lagos, he has built institutions that advance knowledge access, women empowerment, and national heritage documentation.
Since 2004, he has operated a free public library in Lagos with over 60,000 publications. The library is a member of the Network of Books Clubs and Reading Culture Promoters in Nigeria (NBRP) and has hosted more than 400 Nigerian authors, making it a key hub for literary engagement and knowledge dissemination.
Through the *CRIMMD Skill Acquisition Center for Women*, Dr. James has trained 18,911 women at no cost in diverse vocations, equipping them with skills for economic independence and community development.
*Tourism, Museum & Heritage*
A historic and educative tourist, he has visited 35 of Nigeria’s 36 states and documented over 610 tourist sites. His expertise in heritage is recognized professionally: he is a *Fellow of the Global Institute of Tourism and Hospitality of Nigeria (FGITH)* and currently serves as the *Deputy Vice President, Museum and Heritage of GITH*, where he contributes to policy, preservation, and promotion of Nigeria’s cultural assets.
