THE TWO CHURCHES OF REVELATION

The book of Revelation presents two symbolic women, representing two opposing religious systems.

1. The Woman of Revelation 12

- Faithful to Christ.
- Keeps the commandments of God.
- Has the testimony of Jesus.
- Persecuted by Satan.
- According to Seventh-day Adventist interpretation, these prophetic characteristics identify the Seventh-day Adventist Church as God's remnant movement (Revelation 12:17).

2. The Woman of Revelation 17

- Called "Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots."
- A worldwide religious system that departed from biblical truth.
- This symbol represents the Roman Catholic Church and the religious system associated with it.

The final issue in Revelation is not popularity, tradition, or denomination—it is truth versus error, God's commandments versus the traditions of men, and loyalty to Christ versus loyalty to human authority.

«"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." — Revelation 14:12 (KJV)»

«"Come out of her, my people..." — Revelation 18:4 (KJV)»

Study your Bible. Test every doctrine by Scripture (Acts 17:11). Follow Jesus above all else.

📣📣📣🔥 THE 7TH-DAY SABBATH & THE GREGORIAN CALENDAR: DID THE CALENDAR CHANGE THE SABBATH? 📅🕊️🧐⏰✅

Many professed Christians today reject Saturday as the seventh-day Sabbath, arguing that the calendar was changed by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582.
But here is the important question:
❓ DID THE GREGORIAN CALENDAR CHANGE THE 7-DAY WEEK?
Let's examine the historical evidence and then consider what the Bible teaches. 📖

🔵 1. WHAT ACTUALLY CHANGED IN 1582?
It is true that the calendar we commonly use today is called the Gregorian calendar, following reforms introduced under Pope Gregory XIII.
The previous Julian calendar had accumulated an error because its calculation of the solar year was slightly too long.
📅 By 1582, the calendar date had drifted significantly from the astronomical seasons.
To correct this, Pope Gregory XIII decreed that:
➡️ Thursday, October 4, 1582
would be followed by
➡️ Friday, October 15, 1582.
⚠️ Ten calendar dates were skipped.
But notice something extremely important:

🟢 THE WEEKLY CYCLE WAS NOT RESET!
Thursday was followed by Friday.
The sequence remained:
Sunday → Monday → Tuesday → Wednesday → Thursday → Friday → Saturday
The numerical dates changed, but the 7-day weekly cycle continued.

🟡 2. THE CALENDAR DATE CHANGED — BUT THE WEEK DID NOT
The Gregorian reform was designed to correct the calendar's relationship to the solar year.
📌 10 dates were omitted.
📌 The calendar was corrected.
📌 Leap-year rules were modified.
❗ But there was no instruction to rename Thursday as Monday, or Saturday as Sunday.
The weekly sequence continued uninterrupted.
England adopted the Gregorian calendar much later, in 1752. There, eleven calendar dates were skipped:
➡️ Wednesday, September 2
➡️ Thursday, September 14
Again, the dates jumped, but the weekly cycle continued.

🔴 3. WHAT ABOUT THE WEEKLY CYCLE?
Historical investigations have repeatedly recognized the continuity of the seven-day week.
A 1932 letter attributed to James Robertson, Director of the U.S. Naval Observatory, stated:
“We have never found one of them that has ever had the slightest doubt about the continuity of the weekly cycle since long before the Christian era.”
Another statement attributed to the Astronomer Royal at Greenwich said:
“In the various changes of the calendar there has been no change in the seven day rota of the week.”
🔥 Think about that!
The calendar has undergone changes.
The dates have been adjusted.
But the seven-day sequence remained intact.

🟣 4. THE SEVEN-DAY WEEK DID NOT COME FROM THE GREGORIAN CALENDAR
The seven-day week existed long before the Gregorian calendar.
📖 Genesis 2:2–3 tells us:
“And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day…”
God established the seventh day as a special day of rest at Creation. 🌎✨
Then the commandment declares:
📖 Exodus 20:8–11
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”
And specifically:
“The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.”
🔵 The Sabbath is therefore connected to the creation week, not to the Gregorian calendar.

🟢 5. WHAT DAY IS THE 7TH DAY TODAY?
Consider the argument sometimes made:
“We don't know which day is actually the seventh day because calendars have changed.”
But there is a problem with that argument.
Many Sunday-keeping Christians acknowledge that:
✝️ Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week.
📖 Matthew 28:1
📖 Mark 16:2
📖 Luke 24:1
📖 John 20:1
If Sunday is recognized as the first day of the week, then the day immediately before it is:

🔥 SATURDAY — THE SEVENTH DAY!
First day: Sunday ☀️
Second: Monday
Third: Tuesday
Fourth: Wednesday
Fifth: Thursday
Sixth: Friday
Seventh: Saturday — SABBATH 🕊️
🟤 6. THE JEWISH PEOPLE AND THE SEVENTH-DAY SABBATH
The Jewish people have maintained the seventh-day Sabbath throughout centuries of calendar changes.
🕯️ Friday sunset → Saturday sunset
This corresponds with the biblical pattern of a day beginning with evening.
📖 Genesis 1:5
“And the evening and the morning were the first day.”
📖 Leviticus 23:32 likewise describes the Sabbath in terms of evening-to-evening.
So the biblical Sabbath is not merely a date printed on a calendar.

✝️ IT IS A SPECIFIC DAY OF THE SEVEN-DAY CYCLE.

🔥 7. “IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH DAY YOU KEEP!”
Have you heard someone say:
“It doesn't matter which day you keep as the Sabbath.”
Let's examine that idea through a biblical example.

🟢 8. NAAMAN: DID IT MATTER WHICH RIVER?
📖 2 Kings 5:10, 14
God instructed Naaman, through Elisha, to wash himself seven times in the Jordan River.
But Naaman wasn't pleased.
He asked:
📖 2 Kings 5:12
“Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel?”
Naaman could have reasoned:
💭 “Surely another river will work.”
💭 “Why does it matter which river?”
💭 “I'll choose the river that I prefer.”
But would that have fulfilled God's specific command?
🔴 NO.
God had given him a specific instruction.
And Naaman was healed when he humbled himself and followed God's Word.
📖 2 Kings 5:14
“Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God…”
And his flesh was restored. 🙏

🟡 9. WHAT WAS NAAMAN'S TEST?
The issue wasn't simply the water.
The deeper issue was:

WILL I TRUST GOD ENOUGH TO DO EXACTLY WHAT HE HAS SAID?
Naaman had to choose between:
🟢 God's instruction
or
🔴 his own preference.
Likewise, when it comes to the Sabbath, the question should not simply be:
“Which day do I prefer?”
The question should be:

📖 “WHAT HAS GOD COMMANDED?”

🔵 10. GOD SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFIED THE SEVENTH DAY
God didn't say:
❌ “Choose any day.”
He said:
📖 Exodus 20:10
“But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.”
And:
📖 Isaiah 58:13
“If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath…”
God identifies a particular day.

🔥 THE SEVENTH DAY.
Therefore, the question deserves serious Bible study:
Will we accept God's Word by faith, or will we choose our own way?

🟣 11. THE SABBATH IS NOT A LUNAR CYCLE
The seven-day biblical cycle is independent of the changing phases of the moon. 🌙
The Sabbath command is based on the seven-day creation pattern:
🟢 Day 1
🟢 Day 2
🟢 Day 3
🟢 Day 4
🟢 Day 5
🟢 Day 6
🔴 DAY 7 — SABBATH
📖 Genesis 2:2–3
The moon does not determine when the seventh day arrives.
The weekly cycle continues every seven days.

⚠️ 12. THE REAL QUESTION
The issue is ultimately bigger than the Gregorian calendar.
It is about obedience to God's Word.
Ask yourself:
🔵 Did the Gregorian calendar remove days from the calendar? YES.
🟡 Did it change the seven-day sequence? No evidence shows that it did.
🟢 Did God identify the seventh day as His Sabbath? YES.
📖 Exodus 20:8–11
🔴 Does God give us permission to replace His specified day with one of our choosing?
That is the question each person must honestly examine from Scripture.

✝️ 13. BE DOERS OF THE WORD
The Bible gives us this powerful counsel:
📖 James 1:21–22
“Receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.”
And:
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…”
🔥 Don't merely hear God's Word.
🔥 Don't merely discuss God's Word.
🔥 Don't merely defend tradition.

STUDY IT. BELIEVE IT. AND OBEY IT. 📖✝️

🕊️ FINAL THOUGHT
The Gregorian calendar changed calendar dates, but the evidence presented here points to the continuity of the seven-day weekly cycle.
Therefore, the question remains:

🔥 IF SATURDAY IS THE SEVENTH DAY, WILL WE HONOR THE DAY GOD CALLED HOLY?
📖 “The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.” — Exodus 20:10

🙏 Let God's Word—not tradition, convenience, or human preference—be the final authority.
