International Boys' Day - A Message from the Boys

To our parents, teachers, and everyone who shapes our world:

We are more than our silence.

We feel deeply, we just weren't always taught it's safe to say so. We carry pressure to be strong, to not cry, to "man up," often before we even understand what that means. We need guidance, not just discipline. Presence, not just provision.

When we act out, look closer, there is usually something we don't know how to say. When we go quiet, don't assume we're fine. Ask us. Again if you have to.

We don't need to be hardened. We need to be heard.

To our parents: Show up, not just at our games or school activities, but in our conversations. Tell us it's okay to feel lost sometimes. Model the men you want us to become.

To our teachers: See us beyond our grades and our behaviour. Some of us are struggling in ways no report card will show.

To society: Stop measuring our worth by how little we need. The strongest thing a boy can learn is that asking for help is not weakness, it is wisdom.

Raise us with intention. We are watching. We are learning. And we are worth it.
