LASU has 3 segments in its admission process.
1. The first is Biological Staff Children.
This is for children of LASU staff.
2. The second is LASU IIVC.
This involves indigenes of Lagos State through the Indigenes Verification Committee.
3. The third is the General Admission Screening.
This is for all candidates applying for admission.
*Over-time we are going to explain everything one after the other*
It is important to know that not everyone who applies for admission will get admitted. Last year, over 70,000 candidates chose LASU as their first choice, but only about 15,000 were admitted. This shows that LASU is one of the most competitive schools in Nigeria right now.
Based on this, you need to make smart decisions when applying to LASU this year, unless you are ready to try again next year.
LASU admission is not easy.
IIVC Revalidation
Candidates of Lagos State origin who were screened and cleared by the *Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) in the 2024/2025 or 2025/2026 Academic Session* and who have also chosen LASU for 2026/2027 need not register for the ongoing exercise.

LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY (LASU) INDIGENSHIP VERIFICATION EXERCISE
The Lagos State University Indigeneship Verification Exercise is for students from Lagos State who want admission. It helps the school confirm if you are truly from Lagos State.
This process is important because LASU gives special consideration to indigenes during admission. If you pass this stage, your chances of getting admission increase compared to non-indigenes.
All candidates from Lagos State who chose Lagos State University as first choice and scored at least 195 in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination are eligible.
*Registration starts on Monday, 27th April 2026 and ends on Friday , 2nd May 2026. Make sure you register within your scheduled phase.*
