His wife Kemi screamed that she was in Labour. All our concentration went to her.

My parents looked at Samuel and his wife and they concentrated on the road.

The rest hours of he journey was a quiet one. No one spoke. Everywhere was calm and quiet.

As soon as we reached our family house. Samuel and his wife entered my room which was close to the kitchen. He banged the door as they entered the room.

I went to the kitchen to get water to drink.
I overhead the two couples arguing. Why will you pull such a prank on my parents. why? Samuel asked the wife.

I had everything under control. Samuel said.

It didn't seem like you had it under control. She replied.

Samuel!! my father called. Come here with your wife. Immediately they both came to the living room where my father was sitting.

Kemi was holding his hands strong. My mother looked at Samuel and looked at my father.

I was left stranded in the middle of nowhere with my 16year married young brother and his wife by my father.

My father was very angry when he came out of his in-laws house.

My mother followed him to beg on our behalf, but when she entered the car, my father drove off.

Where can we get a taxi here? I asked Kemi my junior brother's wife.

We have to trek a little. She replied. I looked at Samuel and then I looked at Kemi. I didn't know what to say.

We started trekking. Samuel you know you caused all this? I told Samuel as I can no longer hold the pain. Caused what? he asked. You made daddy angry. Why will a small boy like you get a woman pregnant. What were you thinking? I asked Samuel.

Samuel didn't respond. He just held his wife hand and continued trekking.

Are you deaf? am I not talking to you? I asked Samuel.

With all due respect brother James. Please don't talk to my husband like that. Don't talk to him as if he is a baby, if not for anything but for the fact that his wife is here. Kemi told me.

I was left sp*echless. Just then we saw my father's car coming back to our direction.

I opened the back door of the car and we entered.

There was silent in the car.

I was still having argument with my 16year married brother, when our mother read the message that just entered her phone.

Samuel we are going to see your in-law tomorrow. My mother told my younger brother.

There was a bit of silence in the room as we weren't expecting it.

Later that evening, my father came back home with his serious face. James make sure you wash the car very early in the morning. My father said.

I frowned my face. Why are you frowning your face? My father asked me. Why will it always be me? I'm the elder brother here, but it seems like am no longer. Where is my respect dad? Ever since Samuel came back with the pregnant lady I have been the one running all the errands. Its not fair na. I said still frowning my face.

Really? I didn't realized, but he is a married man now, there are certain things I can't tell him to do. he said. If that's the case I'm also getting married. I'm getting a lady pregnant. I said.

Okay. My father replied. I will wash my car by myself. he said.

The following day early in the morning, I woke up and washed the car and we prepared and drove to our in-laws house.

After hours of discussion between the two parties. The introduction was finally over.

As we went close to where we parked our car. Samuel you will have to move out of my house. I have rented a house for you and your wife, and I bought few food stuffs for you guys. You will move into your new home and start your life properly. My father told Samuel.

I could see fire burning in my fathers eye, he was controlling it gently.

I had to look for a way, anyway to cut down his wings. But the only problem I have now is my father giving him authority over me because he is married.

Hmmm Samuel when you are done taking that garri, be sure to wash that plate by your self. I told him.

Hours later my Mother and Kemi( Samuel wife) came back from the market.

They prepared Lunch, My father had already left for work.

When they were done cooking, we ate as a family. Samuel and Kemi went into my room while I stayed in the living room with my mother watching TV.

So mommy you are not going to do anything about what your son just did? You and daddy is just going to let him stay here and continue bringing pregnant ladies into this home?

There was a minute silence in the room. I had to let out a soft cough. Just then my mother came into the living room. Darling come and have a shower. You are just coming back from work. You must be tired. My mother told my father.

He looked at my younger brother and I, then he looked at my mother and then left out a soft smile. He followed my mother gently into their bedroom.

Bro what are you saying? Samuel my lil bro asked me. The father. I hailed my brother just for him to stop disturbing me.

He had to let me be for a while before his wife came to meet us in the living room.

We were in the living room when our parents entered. My father smiled when he saw Samuel and his wife. Odogwu so its true. You have brought your first result for us before your WAEC result will be out. What a pretty certificate.

What the name of your certificate? My father asked Samuel. My mother was holding his hands so that he won't be highly provoked.

Kemi. Samuel answered. Kemi. So Kemi your parents knows that you are here? In your husband's house? I mean in your husband's Family House? My father asked. They are the one that asked me to follow him down here.

They didn't care to know him or something? my father asked. We are too plenty in our family, my father don't know all of us. She replied.

Hmmm Interesting. My father replied. So Samuel how did you meet her, you are supposed to be in boarding school right? My father said.

I I I. Samuel stammered. I I I what? Are you now suddenly a stammerer? My father thundered. Baby let's continue tomorrow. You know they just arrived the family house this evening. They need rest. My mother told my father.

Okay. Use your room, James sleep in the living room. Allow the married man(Samuel) to use the bedroom. my father said as he left with my mother to their bedroom.

It was a moment of disbelief for me. I'm supposed to be the senior son, the elder brother.

That night I slept in the living room.

The following day, Kemi and my mother went to the market to buy something. My family was already treating her as a daughter in law. We had our breakfast before they left.

My father entered the kitchen and found out that the plates we used in having our breakfast haven't been washed.

James!! I heard my name. Why haven't you washed the plate? My father asked me immediately I arrived.

Samuel is here. I replied. You expect a married man to wash your plate? There was silence between us.

Do you have a wife? My father asked me? I nodded to No. Then go and wash the plates. At least the wife just arrived, just try to give him some respect. My father said.

I went into the kitchen and started washing the plate when my younger brother came into the kitchen.

I want to use this cup you just washed to take garri.

I gave him a bombastic side eye.

Samuel my younger brother came back home from boarding school with a pregnant lady which he introduced as his wife.

My mom and I was surprised in the house when he introduced the lady as his wife, she was also 16years.

Samuel how come? My mother asked in shock. I was scared to tell you mom. I was thinking she would stay with her parents when I come back from school. But her parents didn't allow her. I couldn't hide it any longer.

Samuel you are too small. You were sent to school to study. My mother said. My mouth was still wide open. The only thing that could pass through my brain was that my younger brother will soon be a father and my parents grandparents.

My mother had to accept Samuel and his new wife, My father wasn't back from work yet, We didn't know what his reaction might or will be.

Based on how big the wife tommy is, one can tell she is near to delivery.

The shock made us not to ask too many questions at that moment. How did it happen? Who is the father of the girl? How come he was able to hide this for this long. Wait No wonder he was constantly billing us and all that.

My mother served him dinner with his wife. We were waiting for our father to come back.

Sharp shooter I hailed my lil bro as he was watching movie in the living room alone. His wife was in the kitchen washing plate.

Father to be. I hailed him. Stop joor. he said. I was Still hailing him when he interrupted. Bro I want to ask you for a favor. He said.

What? I asked him. Please be sleeping in the living room for now. he said. What happened to our own room? I asked, because we share same room.

Good news, my king. Your wife delivered a beautiful female child, and the midwife delivered the baby to the king.

The King doesn’t seem happy about the news. Why? Because he was expecting a male child and not a female one.

The next day, the king invited all the elders to the palace, and then he told them about the child his wife had given birth to.

My elders: here, my wife has delivered a baby girl for me. I was expecting a male child who would take my place when I was gone. Now what do I do? the king asked sadly.

One of the elders stood up and said, My king, I think it's not bad news yet; moreover, you also need a princess.

Another elder got up and said, My king, you will live long. And about this issue, I think it is not bad news because there is still time for your wife; maybe she will deliver a bouncing baby boy next time.
