UPDATE ON CONTINUOUS VOTERS REGISTRATION
Our team visited the INEC office at Igueben Local Government Area to observe the in-person data capturing of the continuous voters registration.
We arrived there today Tuesday at about 9:46 am Nigeria time and met people already following the due procedure in the process to get registered and obtain their voters card.
At this centre, the INEC staff are well behaved, attending to people with clear caution and respect.
We observed that they are using only two data capturing machine which is making the work slow and the awareness is poor among residents within the various communities that make up the Local Government.
The Coordinator of Igueben Study Centre of Edo Civil Society in person of Comrade Larry Enabulele said we are here to have a first hand information and see for ourselves how the continuous voters registration.
Speaking further at the INEC office, he said " we will be organising a one day symposium to enlighten the residents of Igueben and see how we can mobilize using all fronts in supporting INEC so that they can achieve their goals.
This is a developing news and we will continue to update you as we move from one Local Government to another.
