Very Enlightening!
Why do our school system pay so much attention on changing or improving children accent?
When will our schools realize that children don't drop out of school due to accent problems?
The inability to READ is one of the major cause of the high rate of school dropouts.
For the child struggling to read, one can only speculate the frustration and agony these children go through on a daily basis. So why spend time improving their accent when you can maximize that time in teaching them to READ!

PHONICS
Phonics instruction is a means to an end; not the end in itself.
Phonics is not meant to be the predominant component within a
reading program; rather it is one of the essential features. It is critical
that students see the relevance of phonics. Phonics instruction should
begin with a foundational understanding of phonemic awareness and
letters of the alphabet. The instruction should be linked to literature
rather than to decontextualized activities with no relevance.
Dyslexia is REAL!
Formally, 2 of every 7 children had it...
But now---
Millions of Nigerian children have contracted it and are still contracting it on daily basis...
Dyslexia normally is genetic. But... Now, school literacy teachers are making millions of children dyslexic on daily basis.
How?
Through faulty teaching method of literacy skills.
A child's education is almost totally wasted unless he can read and write.
