There is a mistake many adults make when discussing children and academics.

Once a child begins to struggle in school, the immediate conclusion becomes:

“He is not serious.”
“She does not like reading.”

But if we are patient enough to observe closely…

We often discover that the real problem is deeper.

Sometimes, the child is battling fear.

Fear of speaking.
Fear of failure.
Fear of being laughed at.

Sometimes, it is distraction.

Too much screen time.
Too little structure.
Too little guidance.

And in some cases, the child simply does not yet understand their own strengths.

This is why comparison can be dangerous.

Every child develops differently.

A child who struggles to speak confidently today may become exceptionally brilliant tomorrow… if properly guided.

A child who dislikes Mathematics may not hate learning.

They may simply fear embarrassment.

A child who performs poorly academically may not be lazy.

They may be emotionally overwhelmed, distracted, discouraged, or silently confused.

This is why education must go beyond correction.

It must include:

Patience

Observation

Encouragement

Proper guidance

Children learn better in environments where they feel safe to try, fail, ask questions, and improve.

At Cinac Royal School, we believe that every child carries potential.

Sometimes, what a child needs most is not pressure…

But understanding.

Because when children are properly guided, encouraged, and exposed to the right environment…

Confidence grows.

Curiosity returns.

And learning becomes meaningful again.

A beautiful throwback to the unforgettable March 2026 Interhouse Sports at CINAC Royal School.

Featured here is the graceful Queen of Yellow House, shining brightly in confidence, elegance, and team spirit.

Beyond the celebration and colors, Interhouse Sports continues to teach our pupils valuable lessons in courage, unity, leadership, and self expression.

Indeed, it was more than a competition. It was a moment of growth, joy, and lasting memories.

There is a quiet dignity in work that we often overlook.

The early mornings.
The long hours.
The commitment to show up, even when it is not convenient.

Work, in its truest form, is more than a means of earning a living.

It is contribution.
It is responsibility.
It is service to something greater than oneself.

On this Workers’ Day, we pause to recognize and appreciate every individual whose daily effort keeps our society moving forward.

From the teachers shaping young minds…
To the parents working tirelessly to provide…
To every professional, artisan, and labourer contributing in their own way…

Your work matters.

At CINAC Royal School, we understand that the future we desire for our children is built on the values we model today.

Diligence.
Consistency.
Excellence.

These are not just words we teach.

They are values we respect and celebrate.

As we honor workers everywhere today, may we also remember that the seeds of great work ethic are planted early.

In the classroom.
At home.
In everyday examples children observe.

Happy Workers’ Day.

There is a quiet shift that occurs the moment schools close for the term. It does not happen suddenly, but gradually and almost unnoticed.

The child who once woke up early with purpose now sleeps longer into the morning hours.

Books that were opened and studied daily slowly begin to gather dust on the shelf.

The mental sharpness that was sharpened over the term gradually gives way to comfort, relaxation, and unstructured play. And before long, something subtle but significant begins to take place.

Retention starts to fade, particularly in foundational subjects like Mathematics and Reading. Not because the child is not intelligent, but because the mind, just like the body, responds to consistent use. When it is regularly engaged and challenged, it grows stronger, sharper, and more disciplined. When it is left idle for too long, it relaxes, loses its edge, and begins to forget what it once mastered with ease.

This is the silent concern that many parents carry quietly throughout the long vacation. They may not always say it loudly, but in their hearts they wonder: Will my child lose the valuable knowledge and academic discipline they worked so hard to build during the term?

The solution is not to deny the child well-deserved rest. Rest is essential for rejuvenation, creativity, and overall wellbeing.

However, rest must be structured and balanced with purposeful engagement. A completely idle mind during the holidays is the fastest way to undo weeks of academic progress.

A simple but consistent daily routine can make a powerful difference. This routine does not need to feel like school work. It should be light, enjoyable, and sustainable. Parents can consider the following practical steps:

- Light reading for 20 to 30 minutes daily:

storybooks, educational magazines, or age-appropriate novels that build vocabulary and comprehension without pressure.

- Mental exercises such as puzzles, Sudoku, simple coding games, or mathematical brain teasers that keep the mind active and sharp.

- Short revision sessions of 15 to 25 minutes: quick review of key topics from the just-concluded term, using flashcards, past questions, or educational apps.

- Practical application activities like cooking with measurements (Mathematics), writing daily journals (English), or basic science experiments at home.

These small, consistent investments help the child return to school sharp, confident, and ready to build on previous knowledge rather than struggling to catch up in the first few weeks.

At Cinac Royal Schools, we encourage balanced and intentional holidays. We believe learning should not stop entirely during vacation. It should simply take a different, more relaxed but still purposeful form that supports the child’s overall development.

The real question every responsible parent must consider is this: What kind of student do you want your child to be when the new term begins : refreshed and ahead, or relaxed but behind?

A story of effort, discipline, teamwork, and the will to succeed.

We celebrate not just the winners, but every student who stepped forward, gave their best, and made this event memorable. You are all champions in your own right.

Congratulations to our Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalists. Your hard work has paid off, and we are incredibly proud of you!

The journey continues… and the future is bright.

There is a kind of conversation many parents have with their children that often ends too quickly.

“What do you want to become?”

“A doctor.”
“A lawyer.”
“A footballer.”

And we smile.

But if we are honest, that moment should not end the conversation. It should begin it.

Because a child mentioning a career is not clarity. It is only a starting point.

The real work is helping that child understand:

What the career truly involves

The discipline required

The journey, not just the title

What can parents do?

Start asking better follow-up questions:

“Why do you like that profession?”
“What do you think they do every day?”
“Would you like to learn more about it?”

Then go further:

Show them videos

Tell them real-life stories

Introduce them to people in that field if possible

Let the dream be tested gently… not discouraged.

Because when a child begins to understand what they say they want, their thinking becomes deeper.

At CINAC Royal School, we guide children beyond dreams into understanding.

Today, we celebrate the greatest love story ever told… a love that gave, sacrificed, and rose again in victory.

On this special day, CINAC Royal School wishes all our wonderful parents, students, staff, and the entire Christian community a blessed and joyful Easter.

May the resurrection of Jesus Christ fill your hearts with hope, renew your faith, and remind you that no situation is beyond God’s power.

Just as the stone was rolled away, may every obstacle in your life be removed, and may new beginnings spring forth for you and your family.

Let this season be a time of love, peace, forgiveness, and renewed strength.

Happy Easter!

God is indeed our strength.

There are moments that come and go… and there are moments that stay with us forever.

Our Interhouse Sports was not just an event. It was a beautiful reminder of what happens when purpose, passion, and people come together.

First, we return all glory to God Almighty, whose grace made every moment possible.

From the Heat Day to the grand finale at Lagos State University, everything came together in a way only He could have orchestrated.

To our incredible parents… we see you, and we appreciate you deeply.

Your presence, your cheers, your sacrifices, and your unwavering support did not go unnoticed.

In every clap, every smile, and every proud look, we saw love in its purest form. And truly, moments like this are only possible because of you.

To our amazing students, you made us proud. Your courage, teamwork, and joy reminded us why we do what we do every day.

And to our dedicated staff, thank you for the commitment, planning, and care that brought this vision to life.

This was more than a sports event.
It was family. It was unity. It was excellence.

Thank you for being part of this beautiful story. ❤️💛💙💚
