Section 33 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria guarantees and deprives the life of citizens of Nigeria. Many convicts on death roll have been executed in Nigeria but were not done in public until 1971 when Babátúndé Fólórunsó and 2 others were executed by firing squad.

In Nigeria death sentence can only be executed either by hanging or by firing squad.

Babátúndé, AKA Baba oní-lace was a notorious armed robber, Mr. Williams Alders Oyazimo and Joseph Ilobo were convicted for armed robbery of a loud speaker and record player worth ₦320.
Both claimed to be innocent and framed for the crime, the last words of Williams were:

"if you search your conscience, you will know that a naval officer of my status will never go in the dead of the night to steal. I’ll die today, innocent of the crime for which I am condemned...Father, I am innocent. My blood will cleanse my family and my children will prosper.””

About Four Thousand (4,000) condemned inmates in the Nigerian Correctional centers are currently waiting to be executed.

Juvenile delinquency is a nuisance or an "offence" committed by a young person under the age of 18 years. It is mainly the result of juveniles trying to comply with the wishes of their peers or to escape from parental pressure or certain emotional stimulation.
Examples of such offences are habitual truancy, drug addiction, prostitution, stealing, cultism, affray, public nuisance etc.

Unlike majors (above 18 years), the law stipulates a mild criminal justice system for juveniles, as minors wouldn't be punished as majors.
