What if one of the most important conversations of our time hasn't truly begun in Africa yet?
Every generation inherits a defining question.
Ours may be this:
What should humanity become?
Artificial Intelligence is changing how we think.
Biotechnology is changing how we heal.
Longevity science is changing how we age.
And human enhancement is inviting us to rethink what it means to be human.
These developments are moving quickly. The harder question is whether we are asking the right questions about them.
How should science and religion respond?
What insights can philosophy offer?
What might African cultures, ethical traditions, and faith communities contribute?
At Transhumanists Africa, we don't claim to have all the answers. But we do believe Africa has an important voice to bring to this global conversation.
That's why we're launching the Africa International Conference on Human Enhancement - AICHE 2026.
More than a conference, AICHE is an invitation to think together -- across disciplines, cultures, beliefs, and borders -- about how emerging technologies can serve human flourishing and how African perspectives can enrich global conversations on the future of humanity.
If you're a philosopher, scientist, theologian, healthcare professional, engineer, innovator, entrepreneur, policymaker, artist, student, or simply someone who enjoys asking big questions, we'd love to have you join the conversation.
