A four‑storey building located at 11, Adudatu Street, behind County Hospital in the Aguda area of Ogba, Lagos State collapsed on Monday, March 9, 2026. 

The structure housed Yemco Nursery, Primary and Comprehensive College as well as some residential apartments. 

Students and teachers escaped
Just minutes before the collapse, teachers, pupils and other occupants were evacuated after concerns were raised about the building’s safety, including cracks and parts of the structure falling. 

Witnesses reported that the collapse happened as soon as about three minutes after evacuation. 

No deaths have been reported and everyone got out before the building fell, though some students may have been treated for injuries sustained during the evacuation.
