UTME 2024: Things candidates should keep in mind before the exam:

The 2024 JAMB UTME examination begins on Friday, 19th April. Thus far, we have provided you with almost all the resources for you to prepare adequately for the exam. While you are preparing earnestly for the exam, there are a few things we think you also need to keep in mind as your exam approaches.

*JAMB CBT Question Format*

UTME 2024: Things candidates should keep in mind before the exam
You will be given two hours to answer 180 questions; 60 for English, and 40 for each of the other subjects. Speed and accuracy matter a lot. If you have been using the JAMB CBT Mobile App (for Android mobile phones) and JAMB CBT Software (for Desktops and Laptops), the examination should be simple enough.

*Important Keys to Remember*

If you are using the keyboard, here are the most important keys;

N – To move to the next question
P – To go back to the previous question
A – To select option A on a question
B – To select option B on a question
C – To select option C on a question
D – To select option D on a question
S – To submit your exam (Be Careful)
R – To Cancel Submit (and RETURN)

The above will be stated before you start the exam, so you should read the instructions properly before starting.

However, you should note that there are actions you may not be able to perform using the keyboard. In this case, you must use your Mouse (or track-pad). These are;

If you need to switch from one subject to another. That is if you want to answer a particular subject before going to another.
If you need to use the on-screen calculator at the top right corner of your screen.
The on-screen calculator will be available on the screen for candidates who will be taking subjects that involve calculations.

*Forget about “JAMB Runs”*

If you start now to nurse the idea of getting help from somewhere else outside your brain, you may end up with stories that touch.

*Acquire Past Questions and Revise:*
Investing time in revising past questions is crucial for understanding the exam format, identifying patterns, and strengthening your knowledge base. Utilize resources available online or purchase past question booklets to familiarize yourself with the types of questions asked in previous exams. Dedicate regular study sessions to tackle these questions, focusing on areas where you need improvement.
*Explore Your Exam Center:*
Knowing the location and layout of your exam center can alleviate stress on the day of the exam. Take time to research the address provided on your exam slip and plan your route in advance. If possible, visit the center beforehand to familiarize yourself with the surroundings, transportation options, and facilities available. This proactive approach will help you arrive punctually and minimize any last-minute disruptions.
*Join Study Groups and Online Forums:*
Connecting with fellow exam candidates through study groups and online forums can be immensely beneficial. These platforms provide opportunities to share insights, exchange study materials, and offer support to one another. Engaging with peers who are also preparing for the JAMB exam can foster motivation, provide different perspectives, and create a sense of community during your preparation journey.

1. Ummi 🧕- Ummi is the narrator of the story in the book and one of the major characters. Her full name is Ummi Ahmed. She is the mother of four children who are Omar, Teemah, Jamila and Bint. She is also the wife of Mr. Esquire, a banker.

2. Omar 👨‍🎓 - The first child and the only son of Ummi Ahmad who gained admission to study law.

3. Teemah 👩 - The second child and first daughter of Ummi Ahmad

4. Jamila 🧑- The third child and second daughter of Ummi Ahmad

5. Bint 👦- A 5-year-old child and the last child of Ummi Ahmad

6. Salma 💃 - A fair-complexioned and sophisticated, tall and slim character in the book. Salma is the protagonist in The Life Changer because the whole story revolves around her school life.

7. Samuel Johnson (aka Dr. Sam) 👨‍🏫 - Dr. Sam was Ummi’s Head of Department who winsomely exchanged pleasantries with Ummi when she came for her registration at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Ummi mistakes the winsome pleasantry for an erotic approach and leaves the office in anger. She also reported Dr. Sam’s attitude to her husband and to her greatest astonishment, Dr. Sam and the husband are very close friends.

8. Doctor Dabo 🤵‍♂️ - Dr. Dabo is a lecturer in Ahmad Bello University, Zaria who erotically approached Salma in his office when Salma came for her registration. This caused Salma to insult Dr. Dabo before leaving his office.


9. Talle (aka The Quiet One) 👨- Talle, though was trusted in his community, was later engaged in a corrupt act (kidnapping and extortion) with Zaki, which landed them in prison.

10. Zaki 🥷- Talle's Partner in crime, and a thug and a symbol of social menace who was hired by Habib to kidnap Alhaji’s son. He also involves Talle in the oppression when Talle came to him for financial help.

11. Tomiwa 🤵‍♀️- One of the roommates of Salma who is from Oyo state. She was the one who embarked on a blind date with H

JAMB COMPRISES FOUR (4) SUBJECT

(1). ENGLISH = 60 questions in 40 minutes.

(3). 3RD SUBJECT = 40 questions in 27 minutes

(4). 4TH SUBJECT = 40 questions in 26 minutes

A TOTAL OF 180 QUESTIONS AND 2HOURS.

10 QUESTIONS WILL BE FROM THE JAMB RECOMMENDED READING TEXT ( LIFE CHANGER)

Use an average 35 seconds to answer each question.

When JAMB exam will start 2024?

The 2024 UTME is scheduled to start onFriday, April 19, and end on Monday, April 29. Before attempting to print or reprint your JAMB exam slip, make sure you have the following requirements ready: Your JAMB registration number, email address, or phone number.
