In as much i love to hear "Can I carry your baby" please and please do not kiss my baby. Neither on the lips, forehead or chucks!
People try to show their affection to babies by kissing them, not realising the risk they are exposing the baby to.

How can this be harmful to babies?

Newborns have low immune system, and their bodies are not yet fully equipped to fight off all types of bacteria and viruses. Also, they are not vaccinated for all ailments

Due to the low body fat of preterm baby, they find it very hard to regulate their body temperature. That's why you mother's must have your babies thermometer handy.
Sometimes they're so cold and other time they're extremely hot, checking their temperature time to time give you insight of when to expose them or when to rap them up firmly.
Do you still have a thermometer 🌡 at home? If no get one today. 😇😇😇

You wonder why your baby's not adding weight after discharged from the nicu?
Because you stop feeding your baby every 3 hours like the nurse's do when they're in the nicu.
Continue feeding your baby with cup and spoon every 3 hours even now that you're home.

Preemie Moms!
On the days you feel your worst, remember that you are beautiful. On the days when you feel exhausted physically and mentally, remember you are amazing.
On days when you are not sure how much more you can take, look back and see how far you have come.
On days you feel like you cannot possibly handle another battle, look at all your scars and be proud of all the battles you have already won.
On days you feel all alone, please know that you never are. I'm always here for you ❤️❤️❤️

Mother's how are you holding up?
Amidst all this going on currently, you shouldn't allow your back and neck hurt while breastfeeding.
Is baby to breast! Not you bending your back and neck to breastfeed your baby. With time your back and neck will start hurting and you will have to stop the breastfeeding session. Instead get a pillow or fold multiples clothes to support your baby to breast. Thank you

When some mother's tells me my baby is not adding weight.
Madam how many minutes does your baby suck on each of your breast?
Most mothers gives their babies only fore-breastmilk and not the hind-breastmilk.
Breastmilk as different layers of milk and your baby should suck on each of your breast for at least 15 minutes.

Mother's are you having your "Me" time?
Taking care of babies can be very challenging but taking care of preterm babies can be very demanding, especially when there's no support.
There are times I cried my eyes out 😭 hmmm then I think of a way to ease my stress.

That was when i think of my "Me" time! After rocking my baby to sleep 💤 I will pour some fruit juice, put some popcorn 🍿 in a bowl and turn the television to my favourite channel 😊 while I stretch my legs on the couch 🛋 sometimes that's when I check my emails, post some content, reply to my messages and call my family and friends. The whole house chores continues when she's awake ⏰
Note: Doing your house chores when your baby is asleep, won't give you enough time to rest and relax.
