BREAKING NEWS: IEYDA Declares Three-Day Special Prayer for Late Chief Imam of Ilorin, Seeks Allah’s Mercy upon Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and Nigeria
Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), under the auspices of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, has declared a three-day special prayer session in honour of the Late Chief Imam of Ilorin, As-Shaykh Muhammadul Bashir Soliu, whose passing has left a profound spiritual and communal void within Ilorin Emirate and the wider Muslim Ummah starting from today.
In a statement jointly signed by the National President of IEYDA, Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo, and the National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulfatahi Oloyin, described the Late Chief Imam of Ilorin as a towering religious figure, a custodian of Islamic values, a pillar among scholars, and a symbol of unity, humility, and resolute devotion to Allah.
According to the statement, the declaration of three-day special prayer sessions are scheduled to hold daily starting from today Tuesday by 4:00PM at IEYDA National Secretariat, Aishat Adepate Complex, Edun Street, Ilorin.
Speaking on the significance of the prayer sessions, the National President, Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo, stated that the initiative is aimed to seek Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and eternal rest for the departed Chief Imam of Ilorin, also at imploring divine guidance, peace, and protection for Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “The late Chief Imam of Ilorin dedicated his entire life to the service of Islam, the propagation of moral uprightness, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence among people of all backgrounds. His demise is a monumental loss to Ilorin Emirate and the entire Muslim community,” Jagunmo noted.
IEYDA extended its heartfelt appreciation to the whole Universe including the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for sympathised with Ilorin Emirate. IEYDA condole with Kwara State Government led by His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Kwara State Traditional Council led by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Ilorin Emirate Council, Kwara State Council of ‘Ulama, the Honorary Title Holders of Ilorin Emirate, Imam Fulani family, and the entire people of Ilorin Emirate, with special emphasis on the youth.
The association called on all youths, Islamic scholars, religious organizations, and well meaning members of the public across the world to physically attend and actively participate in the prayer sessions. IEYDA further enjoined Muslims who are unable to attend due to distance or other constraints to join spiritually by reciting Suratul-Mulk and offering prayers for the repose of the soul of the Late Chief Imam of Ilorin.
IEYDA prayed that Almighty Allah grants the deceased Al-Jannatul Firdaus, consoles Ilorin Emirate Council, the family of the Late Chief Imam, and all faithful, and continues to bestow lasting peace, unity, stability, and prosperity upon Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and Nigeria as a whole.
