A POINT OF REFLECTION
"Doctor, Ben is dead.”
“Doctor Ben is dead.”
At first hearing, both sentences sound similar, but they carry two powerful truths.
In the first, a doctor is being informed that a patient named Ben has died.
In the second, we are told that the doctor himself—Doctor Ben—has died.
These two simple statements remind us of a deep reality of life: death is no respecter of persons. It comes to the patient and the physician. It comes to the rich and the poor. It comes to the strong and the weak.
1. No human being is beyond death
Doctors spend their lives fighting sickness. Patients depend on doctors to survive. Yet the truth remains:
The doctor who treats others today may be the one whose life ends tomorrow.
Knowledge cannot stop death.
Education cannot stop death.
Money cannot stop death.
Position cannot stop death.
Death is the great equalizer.
2. Life is uncertain and fragile
Many people live as if they have unlimited time. We plan careers, build houses, and pursue success, yet forget the most important preparation — preparation for eternity.
Ben did not plan to die that day.
Doctor Ben also did not plan to die that day.
But death came.
This teaches us: Tomorrow is a promise to no one.
3. Both the healer and the healed need salvation
Sometimes people think:
“I am a good person.”
“I help people.”
“I serve humanity.”
But being helpful is not the same as being spiritually prepared.
The doctor may save lives physically, but only God saves souls eternally.
Both the doctor and the patient need forgiveness.
Both the doctor and the patient need grace.
Both must stand before God one day.
4. The urgency of making peace with God
The greatest tragedy is not death itself — because death is inevitable.
The greatest tragedy is dying unprepared to meet God.
When death comes, there is no more time to pray, repent, or change.
The decision must be made while we are alive.

AUTOPSY vs POSTMORTEM Stop Using them like they mean the Same Thing
Let’s clear this confusion once and for all
A lot of people throw around “Autopsy” and “Postmortem” like they are twins. They are not.
And if you’re discussing anything legal, medical, or even criminal mixing them up can make you sound uninformed.
Here’s the real difference
Postmortem is the general examination of a de@d body to determine the cause of de@th.
It can be:
🥢 External (just observing the body) or;
🥢 Internal (which may involve opening the body)
In simple terms:
👉 Every examination after de@th is a Postmortem.
Autopsy on the other hand is a type of postmortem that involves a thorough internal examination of the body. Organs are examined.
Cause of de@th is investigated deeply. It is more detailed and often used in suspicious or unclear de@ths.
In simple terms:
👉 Every Autopsy is a Postmortem, but not every Postmortem is an Autopsy.
So next time you hear:
“They did an autopsy…”
What they’re really saying is:
“They carried out a detailed internal postmortem.”
And in legal cases, this difference matters.
Because the depth of examination can affect:
🥢 Criminal investigations
🥢 Insurance claims
🥢 Court evidence
One word can change the entire interpretation of a case.
Now tell me
Before today, were you using them like they meant the same thing?
Be honest
