My schedule this week is 😎

📍Live from Eko Hotels

I already had a packed schedule this month, but I couldn't turn down this invitation.

And I'm glad I didn't.

Today was filled with rich conversations that reminded me why collaboration is the future of education in Nigeria.

One of the major highlights was a high-level panel session featuring Education Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, and other education stakeholders from Lagos, Ekiti, Kano, Kaduna, Abia, and Bayelsa States.

Listening to each state share its education reforms, ongoing projects, successes, and challenges was both insightful and inspiring. It was a rare opportunity to see how different states are approaching education improvement and to learn from their experiences.

Another powerful conversation focused on deepening investment in foundational learning and Early Childhood Education. The discussions explored how governments, businesses, development partners, and philanthropists can work together to ensure every child has access to quality learning from the earliest years.

There was also an important session on scholarships and sustainable education financing, with conversations around creating more opportunities for children while building systems that can deliver long-term impact.

I was particularly delighted to contribute to the conversation on investing in Early Years education. It was encouraging to see stakeholders acknowledge that quality foundational learning is not just an education priority—it is an economic and national development priority. Investing in our youngest learners today is one of the smartest investments we can make for Nigeria's future.

While the progress shared by different states is commendable, significant gaps remain. Closing those gaps will require intentional public-private partnerships, strategic investments, stronger teacher capacity, quality learning resources, and bold leadership.

It was a day of learning, meaningful conversations, and valuable connections with people who are genuinely committed to transforming education.

We go again tomorrow! ✌️

*Why Parents Leave Schools They Once Loved*

One of the biggest mistakes school owners make is believing that parents leave simply because another school is cheaper.

In reality, many parents don't leave because another school is better. They leave because the experience they were promised no longer matches the experience their child is having.

Every parent enrolls a child with expectations.

They expect their child to grow in confidence, develop a love for learning, communicate better, and be genuinely understood by teachers who care.

But when those expectations are not consistently met, doubts begin to grow.

Parents begin to ask themselves:

✅ Is my child really progressing?

✅ Is my child excited about going to school?

✅ Does this school truly understand my child's individual needs?

✅ Is there a clear connection between what the school promised and what my child is experiencing every day?

The truth is this:

Parents don't remain loyal to promises.

They remain loyal to experiences.

The schools that retain families are those where the classroom experience consistently reflects the school's vision, values, and promises. When parents see that alignment, trust grows. And when trust grows, loyalty follows.

As a school leader, here's a question worth reflecting on today:
