ENGINEERING BUSINESS SCHOOL NIGERIA VC BAGS INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP AWARD

The Vice Chancellor of Engineering Business School Nigeria, Engr. Prof. Sony Emeka Ali, has been selected for a prestigious international recognition by the Asian African Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In an official communication dated February 25, 2026, the Chamber disclosed that Prof. Ali was appointed by its Governing Council and Advisory Board Members to receive the Leadership Award at the forthcoming Global Investment Summit / Conclave Dubai 2026.

The high-level summit, scheduled to hold on March 27 and 28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is expected to bring together global investors, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and dignitaries from more than 20 countries. The event is organized to foster strategic partnerships and strengthen economic collaboration between Asian and African nations.

According to the letter, Prof. Ali’s selection was based on his outstanding contributions to leadership, education, and enterprise development, as well as his role in driving innovation within Nigeria’s academic and business ecosystem.

The Chamber noted that the summit reflects the growing economic relationship between Asia and Africa, with trade between both regions witnessing significant growth in recent years and projected to surpass $2.5 trillion by 2026.

As part of the event, award recipients are expected to participate in exclusive engagements designed to connect high-net-worth individuals, global investors, and policy influencers across continents.

The recognition is seen as a major milestone for Engineering Business School Nigeria, further positioning the institution on the global stage as a hub for leadership development and entrepreneurial excellence.

Prof. Ali’s conferment is expected to attract international attention and open new opportunities for collaboration, investment, and academic partnerships for the institution and Nigeria at large.

My poor dad said: "Get a good education. Get a safe job."

My rich dad said: "Learn to sell. Everything else is secondary."

One of them died broke. The other built an empire.

There are four types of people in the financial world.

1. Employees.
2. Self-employed.
3. Business owners.
4. Investors.

The first two trade time for money. The second two build systems and own assets.

The difference isn't intelligence. It's not luck. It's not capital.

It's one skill. Sales.

When cash flow is low — communication is weak.
When cash flow is high — communication is strong.

Every. Single. Time.

I've never met a broke person who was a great communicator. And I've never met a great communicator who stayed broke.

When I was at Xerox, I went through three weeks of world-class sales training. Came back. Hit the streets. And sat in Arthur's Coffee Shop too terrified to knock on a single door.

My rich dad asked how many calls I was making. I said three a day.

He said: "You're not failing fast enough."

That destroyed me. Then it changed everything.

So I got a second job doing cold calls at a non-profit. 30 calls a night. Not to sell — just to kill the fear.

That's when everything shifted.

My friend Blair Singer taught me something most people get wrong about sales. You don't have to be aggressive. There are five sales personalities — the pit bull, poodle, chihuahua, golden retriever, and basset hound. Every single one can win.

Find your breed. Own it. Master it.

But here's what nobody talks about — the most important sale you'll ever make is selling yourself to yourself.

Every morning when the voice says "you can't" — that's the sale.
Every time you pick up the phone after rejection — that's the sale.

Master that, and everything else gets easier.

Sales equals income. No exceptions.
