Half term reminder for parents 💛

Online safety is not just about limiting screen time. It’s also about staying involved in what children are watching, learning, copying, and believing online.

Sometimes the most powerful thing a parent can do is simply keep the conversation open.

And beyond screens? More play. More movement. More creativity. More learning. More real-world connection.

We are glad to officially launch Get Active with Table Tennis, a new community initiative by Elenasy, supported by Sport England. 🏓

Starting this May at Darwin Green Plaza, the sessions are designed to bring young people and adults together through simple and accessible physical activity, creating more opportunities to move, connect, and spend time together away from screens.

The sessions will be led by a Table Tennis England-trained coach, helping to make the experience welcoming and accessible for all skill levels.

At Elenasy, we believe healthy communities are built through movement, play, shared experiences, and real-life connection. This project is part of that vision.

We’re grateful to Sport England for supporting this work and helping us bring more community-led activity into local spaces.

We look forward to welcoming the community of Darwin Green, Franklin Gardens & King’s Court Community Darwin Green Community Rooms in the coming weeks

Sunny afternoons, creative play, coding, and community 🧩☀️🏓

Today at Elenasy CIC, our young people are building with LEGO, learning through board games, exploring coding, and trying table tennis together as we officially launch this week, powered by Sport England

What started as simple weekend community sessions is gradually becoming something bigger a space where children, teens, and families can connect, think creatively, build confidence, move more, and enjoy healthier off-screen experiences together.

From problem-solving and teamwork to digital creativity and physical activity, we believe learning and community can happen in fun, practical, and accessible ways.

A beautiful sunny day, plenty of energy, and another great afternoon at Darwin Green, Franklin Gardens & King’s Court Community

Half term is here… and so is the battle for attention. 👀📱

In a world of endless scrolling, autoplay, and constant screen time, perhaps this week is an opportunity to slow things down a little and create more intentional moments with our children.

Not every activity needs to be expensive or elaborate.

Sometimes the moments children remember most are: creating, building, playing, exploring, going outside, talking, imagining…

At Elenasy, we believe young people need more than just digital access. They also need creativity, connection, curiosity, and healthy digital habits.

So parents and carers, what are your plans for half term?
Any creative ideas, screen-free activities, or fun places to explore with the children?

Share below. You might inspire another family. 💜

Another exciting community project from Elenasy CIC 💜✍🏽

We are launching a Creative Writing Workshop for young writers aged 6–12 in Darwin Green, Franklin Gardens & King’s Court Community; a fun, supportive space where children can explore imagination, storytelling, poems, scripts, and creative expression while building confidence and connection with others.

As part of our commitment to creating healthy digital habits and bringing communities together, this workshop encourages young people to create, think, express themselves, and share ideas in an engaging off-screen environment.

Limited spaces available to keep sessions interactive and supportive. See the flyer for details

From simply using technology to starting to think creatively with it.

That’s one of the core ideas behind our Code Club sessions at Darwin Green, helping young people move beyond passive screen time into curiosity, creativity, problem-solving and safe digital engagement.

We had a brilliant first week, and it was encouraging to see the excitement from both the young people and parents. Many are already looking forward to the coming sessions.

Grateful to the Raspberry Pi Foundation, Cambridge City Council and Imara Systems for supporting this initiative and helping make it possible for local families.

We’re also encouraged to already have a waiting list building for the next cohort.

We didn’t expect chess to become this popular at our Saturday sessions… but week after week, more young people are gathering around the chess board. ♟️

And we love to see it.

Chess is more than a game. It builds focus, patience, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skillswhile giving young people a meaningful off-screen space to connect and learn together.

In a fast-paced digital world, sometimes a board, a few pieces, and real human interaction still win.

Did you grow up playing chess or you’re still a master at it? Or do your children enjoy it too? We’d love to hear. ♟️what’s that core soft skill chess has taught you?
