OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT ASSOCIATION OF CONTINUING EDUCATION STUDENTS,
(ACES CEC) MICHAEL OKPARA UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE UMUDIKE.
“Greatest Nigerian students,
I, Comrade Noble Esinwoke and all EXCOs hereby welcome you all to a new semester. I hope that you had a good shot break and that you enjoyed the time you had to share with your friends and family. I also hope that you are well rested, refreshed and ready to engage anew.
The new semester promises to be exciting, fun-filled and fulfilling as our Association have various activities that will give you a wonderful experience in campus lined up.
I will like to reiterate the fact that the Association is committed to serving the students and also fulfilling ALL promises made.
The Association is not detached from you all, your worries are our worries and likewise, your happiness is our happiness.
My administration is currently battling with the issue associated with students results. So in no distant time, all the issues associated with it will gradually be sorted out.
As I mentioned earlier, we have programmes and activities that cut across academics and social life
lined up for you this semester,
That’s how blessed we are having a president that care about you.
So many other programmes will be communicated to you as at when due.
For now, I only wish to welcome you
all back on campus and also reassure you that we are committed to serving you and making your stay in MOUAU wonderful.
As for the newly admitted students, please beware of those who pose as helpers. Most of them are deviants and rogues. They may promise to assist you with your registrations and other stuffs.There are notable places recomended for you who could give you the assistance you need. Places like the ACES SECRETARIAT or the SCHOOL PORTAL.
The school fees payment have started and I encourage you to register your courses as soon as possible to enable your results to be published fast.
On a final note, I urge you all to continue to be good ambassadors of the institution, pay serious attention to your academics and act within the confines of the law.

I want to unbehalf of my excos wish you all success in your exams this period and we pray that God grants your heart desire. It shall be hitch free and CARRYOVER shall be far from you.🙏

*PROF. M.O IWE VISITS CEC FOR THE FIRST TIME AS HE ASSUMES OFFICE AS THE 6TH SUBSTANTIVE VICE CHANCELLOR OF THE UNIVERSITY.*
In an opening speech by Prof. V.E.Osadeke;the Director of CEC welcomed the Vice Chancellor and his entourage to the Center in a very special way,after which he went straight up to outline the challenges facing the Center,which he listed as:
1)Office accomodation
2) Lack of Academic Staff for the Centre
3) Unmarked OMR results
4) Sharp decline in students intake due to phasing out of some courses in COLMAS program and increase in fees and charges.
5) Lack of seriousness by some lectures to the weekend teaching of CEC courses.
6)Non submission report of the Dean Academic Planning Committee expansion of the CEC Programme,and lastly the Director also drew to the attention of the Vice Chancellor the contribution of the ACES to the Centre by completely building a Secetariate with a bore hole that supplies water to the Center and close by colleges, currently they are building an E-library but have some financial constraints he said.
In addition to this,the Deputy Director Dr. Nnaji from Chemistry department also appeal that the University should consider a stretch on the Federal way,by placing bumps which will help regulate speed during driving,he also reiterate that the University should work with the Federal Government or who ever is in charge to make sure speed breakers are placed thereby reducing accident while driving. To add to the request one graduand from CEC 2014 Year precisely has also appeal to the Vice Chancellor to consider graduands from CEC the opportunity to serve the University Community, also Mr. Fortune Odoemelam from the Department of IRPM 400level in his speech congratulated the Vice Chancellor onbehalf of the Students and also added that he takes to consideration the reduction of School Fees very importantly.
The Vice Chancellor in his speech thanked the Directorate for responding to his visit to the Center as he has asked the Staff and Students of CEC not to be discouraged and always be available to their obligation. The Vice Chancellor also applauded the ACES for been mindful of the University and their comfort in providing facilities such as the Secetariate with a borehole and an ongoing E-library Project,he also assured the Centre that the University cannot do less than to support what they are doing.
In the aspect of Fees and Charges the Vice Chancellor has assured that the University shall look into it but not within this Session he said ;this session must end because we can't stay here and do the work of the Burser and also how much is going to be restored back to the students,so just bear with us as we end the session and articulate fees for the upcoming session,we will take this into consideration, because the more students we have the better for us,we are going to review the fees and charges of our students in the center.
In the Vice Chancellor speech he also requested that the Director give a proposal of what the Directorate wants on the issues of Lectures etc, because it is for the advantage of the Students and the interest of the University at large, we will do the the right thing...he said. He also informed the Centre of the positive movement the University is making about the Federal High way which has caused alot of life.
Lastly he added that we be the best that is expected of us and also open up ourselves for friendship.
The Staff Adviser Dr. Nnanna Agwu from the Department of Agric Business Management onbehalf of the Students and Staff of CEC gave a closing remark and also appreciate the promise by the Vice Chancellor to help support the Centre in completion of the ongoing E-library g project and other requests by the Centre.
