REPORT ON UDUS' FEE INCREMENT IS
BASELESS--DEAN, STUDENTS AFFAIR
The Dean, Students Affair Division, Usmanu
Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Prof. Adamu
Aliero on Wednesday 28th July, 2017
debunked the ongoing viral rumour of fee
increment by the Management of the
institution. Speaking with Campus
Journalists' President, Comr. Fakunle Saheed
in his office, the Dean faulted the source of
the information as he maintained that to the
best of his knowledge, no deliberation
regarding fees increment has been done.
"You see, schedule of fees is not the same for
all courses as different course has its
peculiar fees attachment. It is therefore
baseless to say that the University is
planning to increase her fees to a fixed
amount (N41,000). And to the best of my
knowledge, the schedule of fees remains
unchanged, and like we used to do, if there
is going to be any form of alteration in the
schedule, all stakeholders would be
involved", he outrightly stated.
He further described the report as being a
plan by some people to instigate Union
leaders against management of concerned
institutions.
While asked about the authenticity of the
short-funding factor as outlined by the
report, Prof. Aliero affirmed that the current
recession problem facing the nation affects
the allocation that goes to University. He
thereafter described the recession as a global
problem and that we cannot expect things to
be the same with those time when the
country was experiencing boom, which is
why institutions are now being short-funded.
He however called on students and
concerned persons to discard such news and
accord it with no significance, as it has no
alignment with the take of the Management.
