If the land is not 45 metres away from any power line. DON'T BUY.

If the land is not 30 meters away from any canal. DON'T BUY

If the land does not have a gap of at least 18 meters away from a federal/state/local road. DON'T BUY

Ignorance is NOT a defence.

Senator Ahmed Wadada Betrayed AFO Land – Too Late for His Empty Politics in Mararaba Udege!

By Yahaya Khalid kaika

For more than 12 months, the people of Mararaba Udege suffered unimaginable pain, lives lost, homes burned, and thousands displaced. Despite repeated calls from the Afo socio-cultural group and concerned citizens, Senator Ahmed Wadada refused to visit or offer any support when his people needed him the most. His silence during this crisis proved that he is not a leader but a mere politician who only shows up when it suits his interests.

Now, as elections approach, he suddenly wants to visit Udege on March 16, 2025. This visit is nothing but a political stunt, and an insult to the very people he abandoned. Where was he when the cries of widows, orphans, and the displaced echoed across Afo land? Where was he when leaders with true concern, like Prof. Abdulkarim Kana, stepped in to restore peace through summits and dialogue?

Afo Nation, do not be deceived! This is not the time to welcome a failed politician with open arms but to show him the consequences of his betrayal.

I urge you all to reject that cup of rice and sugar that will not last a week. you survived without his intervention when you need it the most and you shall survive forever without him.

A leader who ignores his people in their darkest hour does not deserve their attention nor their votes. Hold him accountable and prioritize those who truly care for Afo land, not just when elections are near, but when it truly matters!

Let him face the reality of his neglect!

Akpabio-Natasha: Let’s Protect the Institution, Not Individuals

I have watched from afar the recent development in the Senate between the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and the Senator from Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. It is a development that has made me sad because of its overall negative effect on the integrity, sanctity, image, and public perception of the institution. I believe that every person who has had anything to do with the National Assembly, particularly as a leader, member, and worker should always jealously protect these values which make the institution, the numero uno, among the three arms of government.

It is for these reasons that I believe that the two parties in this dispute and their supporters in and out of the chamber should be mindful of the impact of their actions, inactions, reactions, claims, and counter-claims to be sure that nothing is done to rubbish the institution. The constitution, laws of the country, rules of the Senate as well as parliamentary conventions and practices should be adhered to in resolving the issue. And the resolution should be done transparently without being seen to be protective of any of the parties. Rather, the objectives should be to unfold the truth and to protect the law-making institution against a wrong perception of involvement in or tolerance of lawbreaking.

At this point, with the public claims made by the Senator, the right measure to take is to institute an open, transparent, and honest investigation by the Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions. Both parties must submit to the investigation, fully cooperate with the committee, and stake their claims before it. This is not the first time a Senate President would appear before the Committee to aid it in the conduct of a transparent and open investigation. I remember during the 8th Senate when a Senator claimed that I imported an official car for my use as Senate President and that customs duty was not paid on the vehicle. Since I knew the claim was false, the matter was referred to the Ethics Committee and I appeared before the committee to testify, in the full glare of the media. From my testimony, it was clear the Senator who made the allegation got his facts wrong and was only being mischievous.

Also, on the day the committee submitted its report for debate on the floor, I stepped down and allowed my deputy to preside. The transparent manner in which the investigation and the debate on the report were handled assured everybody that there was no case. This is a precedent that the leadership of the 10th Senate should follow.

In my case, the decision to allow an open investigation and subjecting myself to it was not an easy one. It was humbling but I realized that was the best decision and in the end I am happy I travelled that route.

We should not allow the Senate to be cast in the shroud of an institution encouraging sexual harassment, gender bias, abuse of office, flagrant disregard for standing orders and rules, and lack of orderliness. This is what a transparent, open, and unbiased investigation should achieve. The due process should be followed in this case such that where anybody is found to have committed any wrong, the wrong should be pointed out and corrected. Also, the right remedy should be made.

Let me make it clear without any ambiguity that I am neither stating that Akpabio is guilty of anything nor am I expressing the opinion that Senator Akpoti Uduaghan is right in her actions and claims. My position is that an investigation is needed to find out the truth and protect the integrity of the Senate.

For me, the institution of the Senate is so important, sacred, and pre-eminent. All lovers of democracy should always work to strengthen it. No leader or member should be allowed to openly or surreptitiously work to subvert its sanctity.

🌟 Cloud Computing Learning Journey: Day 8 ☁️

Today, I delved into the fascinating world of Serverless Computing with a focus on AWS Lambda! This concept is transforming how we think about deploying and managing applications.

My Key Takeaways are:
💻 What is a Server?
A server is a computer designed to process requests and deliver data to other computers over the internet or a local network. Every server comprises essential components:
1️⃣ Central Processing Unit (CPU): The brain of the server.
2️⃣ Random Access Memory (RAM): For temporary storage and fast processing.
3️⃣ Storage Drive (HDD or SSD): For permanent data storage.
4️⃣ Networking Interface: Enables communication with other systems.

⚡ What is Serverless Computing?
Serverless Computing eliminates the need to manage physical or virtual servers. Instead, developers can focus solely on writing code while AWS automatically handles the infrastructure. It’s cost-efficient, scalable, and incredibly developer-friendly.

🚀 AWS Lambda:
Lambda is a serverless service that allows you to run code without provisioning or managing servers. It’s perfect for event-driven applications, where your code is triggered by specific events, such as changes in data, user requests, or system actions.

Key benefits of Lambda include:
✅ No server management: AWS takes care of everything.
✅ Automatic scaling: Your application scales seamlessly based on demand.
✅ Pay as you go: You’re only billed for the compute time your code uses.

This was a major milestone in my journey, showing how AWS enables developers to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure.

Can’t wait to start experimenting with Lambda and seeing how it can simplify complex workflows. Stay tuned for Day 9! 🚀

The Nasarawa TSC Recruitment Process: My Experience

By Yahaya Khalid Kaika
***
As a graduate with a B.Sc. (Ed) in Physics Education (Second Class Upper Division) from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, like many others, I approached the Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) recruitment process with hope and determination. I traveled to Lafia to sit for the exams, scored 80 marks, and earned 75 in the interview, enduring harsh weather and long hours of waiting. Despite meeting all the requirements, I wasn’t offered a position.

What I discovered afterward was heartbreaking. The recruitment criteria clearly stated that only graduates of Education or those with PGD in Education were eligible. Yet, a former classmate, a third-class graduate with BSc in Physics, who struggled to graduate, and with mathematics, secured a role through connections with the suspended TSC Secretary because he’s a family friend. Another individual openly admitted to paying ₦500,000 for two slots.

This practice of selling jobs is not new. It’s an open secret, and I believe Governor Abdullahi Sule is aware but has chosen to remain silent, until now. This silence enables a corrupt system where merit is overshadowed by nepotism and bribery.

I am deeply disappointed. Merit should matter, and every qualified applicant deserves a fair shot. While I have given up on TSC, I haven’t given up on the hope that one day, we will have a system that rewards hard work and integrity.

The suspension of the Chairman and other management members of the commission should extend to others and a thorough investigation should be carried out and those involved should be w**d out to make room for a brighter future.

As we look to the future, let’s remember, we must strive to be good people always and that our votes are powerful tools for change. We must vote wisely to ensure we elect leaders committed to accountability, transparency and fairness.

Together, we can create a better Nigeria that works for all.

🌟 Cloud Computing Learning Journey: Day 7☁️

Today, I dived into some essential networking concepts in AWS, including
IP Addressing, Gateways, and VPC Peering. These components are vital for managing communication within and across cloud environments.

My Key Takeaways:
📍 IP Address (Internet Protocol):
An IP Address is a unique identifier assigned to a network for identifying hosts and locations. AWS provides several types of IP addresses:
1️⃣ Public Address: Accessible by everyone on the internet.
2️⃣ Private Address: Used within private networks and not accessible from the internet.
3️⃣ Elastic (Static) IP: A reusable IP address that can be reassigned to other instances, when one instance is terminated.

🌐 NAT Instance:
A NAT (Network Address Translation) instance enables EC2 instances in a private subnet to connect to the internet while preventing unsolicited inbound traffic.

🌐 NAT Gateway:
Similar to a NAT instance, this AWS-managed service allows private subnet instances to access the internet securely and with greater reliability.

🔗 VPC Peering:
A network connection that links two Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) to allow resource sharing between them.

🌍 Inter-Region VPC Peering:
This is an extended version of VPC peering that connects VPCs across different AWS regions, enabling seamless communication between geographically separated networks.

These concepts have given me a solid foundation in cloud networking.

Excited to continue this journey and explore more AWS services. Stay tuned for more updates! 🚀

🌟 Cloud Computing Learning Journey: Day 6 ☁️

Today, I delved into two crucial AWS services: Auto Scaling and Elastic Load Balancing (ELB). These tools are essential for creating scalable, efficient, and reliable applications in the cloud. 🚀

My Takeaways:
🔄 AWS Auto Scaling:
Auto Scaling ensures your application can handle fluctuating demands by automatically adjusting the number of instances. It adds or removes resources as needed, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency.

🛠️ Auto Scaling Group (ASG):
ASG simplifies the process of managing instances. It doesn’t just apply to EC2 instances but works across other AWS services to dynamically add or remove resources based on predefined rules.

💡 Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling:
This specific service focuses on EC2 instances, scaling them up or down to match the demand of your application, ensuring seamless performance.

⚖️ Elastic Load Balancing (ELB):
ELB works in tandem with Auto Scaling Groups to distribute traffic evenly across all available instances. It ensures that no single instance is overwhelmed, improving the reliability and availability of your application.

These services are game-changers for building resilient cloud-based applications, making it easier to handle unexpected spikes in traffic while maintaining cost control.

I’m looking forward to applying these concepts in hands-on projects soon. Stay tuned as I continue this journey to mastering cloud computing! 🚀

***The Legal Way to Write Your Name on a Document

Many people still make mistakes when writing their own names on official documents. Here's a simple guide to ensure you get it right:

1. Surname or Last Name
This is your father's name or your family name.

2. Middle Name or Other Names
These are your additional names that people may not use to address you daily.

3. First Name
This is the name people call you daily, both at work and at home.

4. Maiden Name
For women, this is the surname you used before marriage. For men, your surname remains unchanged.

Next of Kin
Choose someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf during emergencies. It’s often best to select a younger person who can handle responsibilities wisely.

For Your Children
- Use one of your names as their surname, or continue the family name.

For Wives
- Legally, it’s not compulsory to change your surname to your husband’s after marriage.
- However, for love, honor, or tradition, you can choose to adopt it.

Buying Property as Husband and Wife
Ensure both full names are clearly written. For example:
- Mr. Yahaya Khalid Kaika
- Mrs. Rashida Musa Agi

For women, if you haven’t officially changed your surname, use the one you were known by at the time of the transaction.

Important Note
A small change in your name, such as a missing letter, can make it legally invalid. For instance:
- Khalid and Khaledare two different names.

Take care to avoid simple mistakes that could lead to major problems later.

Stay informed and protect your identity!
