Botswana’s President has delivered a direct message to the most powerful man in the world: “If you wish to engage in business, come to us.” 🇧🇼💎 President Duma Gideon Boko has declined Donald Trump’s invitation to visit the White House, stressing that negotiations concerning Botswana’s resources must occur on Botswana’s soil, rather than abroad. His exact words left no room for misinterpretation: “Botswana is tired of traveling abroad for deals related to its own resources.” “Buyers should go to the sellers — if the situation is reversed, the buyer’s interest is not truly valuable.” Botswana is the world’s second-largest diamond producer by value and holds critical minerals that America urgently needs for its tech and defense industries. For generations, African leaders have traveled to Washington, London, and Beijing to negotiate deals over resources located in African soil — Boko is stating that this era is now over. This is not a dramatic stance; it is a demonstration of leverage. Botswana is aware of its assets and, finally, an African leader is acting accordingly.

Kirk often argues that cultural issues, rather than systemic racism, are the primary problems facing the Black community. For example, he has repeatedly claimed that absent fathers are a major cause of inequality among Black Americans, dismissing systemic racism as the main cause.

He argues that Black America needs to move from a "victim mentality" to a "victor mentality".

In one instance, he suggested that the issues facing Black Americans are "self-actualized".

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)

Kirk has strongly opposed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, describing them as "anti-White" and harmful to a meritocratic system.

His most publicized comment on the topic occurred in January 2024, when he stated, "If I see a Black pilot, I'm gonna be like, 'Boy, I hope he's qualified,'" while discussing DEI programs in aviation. This remark sparked significant backlash and accusations of racism.

Civil rights and reparations

He has challenged the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., claiming King's historical portrayal is a "myth" and attacking the Civil Rights activist.

▪️At the peak, Mobutu's wealth was estimated as between 7 Billion USD to 10 Billion USD in early 1980s

▪️On the flip-side, between 1970 and 1994, Zaire received 8.5 USD Billion in loans and grants from Western donors (including from MFIs)

▪️😄Technically, Mobutu would have comfortably loaned his country and still have sufficient for himself (taking his maximum estimate)

▪️Interestingly, in mid 1980s and late 80s, Zaire's GDPs peaked at about 9 Billion USD, which coincided with his peak wealth

▪️This means Mobutu's wealth may have at one point been higher than his country's GDP 😄. That's a man richer than his country

▪️By the way, in the 90s just before he was disposed, his wealth was estimated as close to 5 Billion USD

▪️This would be about 87 Billion USD today putting into consideration the inflation rate (an average rate of 10% annually)

▪️His wealth which included real estimates was located in countries such as Belgium to Ivory Coast, from Switzerland to Morocco, from France to Spain among others

▪️In Zaire alone, Mobutu owned 11 palaces, a luxury yacht on the Zaire River and a private gold mine that reportedly held 100 tons of gold spread over 32,000 square miles in the mid 90s
