**📚 The Rights of Our Children
As parents, we will all stand before Allah and be asked about what He entrusted to us. Our children are among the greatest trusts.
The Right of Children: To Know Their Lord FIRST
Western education, degrees, and titles are important for this dunya. But let’s be clear: *Islamic education is MORE important*.
In the grave, no one will be asked “What was your GPA?” or “What degree do you hold?”. We will be asked: _“Who is your Lord? What is your religion? Who is your Prophet?”_
If the home does not provide knowledge of Allah, Tawheed, Salah, and Akhlaaq, then it is upon parents to ensure they learn it — by teaching them, or by placing them in a school of sound Islamic knowledge.
💡Allah ﷻ says: _“O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire…”_ [Qur’an 66:6]
💡The Prophet ﷺ said:
_“Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible for his flock. A man is a shepherd in charge of his family and he is responsible for them...”_ _Sahih al-Bukhari 5200, Sahih Muslim 1829_
_💡“Command your children to pray when they are seven years old, and discipline them for it when they are ten.”_ _Sunan Abu Dawud 495, graded Hasan by Al-Albani_
_💡“The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”_ _Sahih al-Bukhari 5027_
So dear parents, let us fear Allah regarding our children’s education. Give them both — dunya knowledge AND akhirah knowledge .... but never sacrifice the foundation for the building. Teach them Tawheed, Salah, and Akhlaaq first. That is their true protection in this life and the next.
