NOTIFICATION OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR MODEL SCIENCE, TECHNICAL AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLASSES (MSTEC) FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

I am directed to inform you that the Entrance Examination for admission into the Model Science, Technical and Entrepreneurship Classes (MSTEC) for the 2026/2027 Academic Session has been scheduled to hold on Saturday, 29th August, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.

The examination will be conducted simultaneously at designated centres across the State.

You are therefore requested to inform all applicants under your jurisdiction and ensure their attendance at their respective examination centres on the scheduled date and time.

KSSSSMB Kicks Off Teachers’ Promotion Interview, ES Gwarzo Monitors Panels for Smooth Conduct

The Executive Secretary Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board, Hon. Rabi’u Sale Gwarzo, has toured the designated interview panels at the Board Headquarters to monitor the 2026 Teachers’ Promotion Interview and ensure the smooth conduct of the exercise.

Addressing the interview teams constituted across the Board to facilitate the exercise, Hon. Gwarzo urged the panel members to conduct the interviews carefully, fairly and in line with the approved guidelines. He encouraged them to take their responsibilities seriously and maintain a high level of professionalism throughout the exercise.

Hon. Gwarzo further appreciated the Kano State Governor, His Excellency Abba Kabir Yusuf, for sustaining regular teachers’ promotions, describing the development as a boost to staff morale and motivation. He noted that the consistency being witnessed under the present administration reflects its commitment to education reforms and the professional development of teachers.

Hon. Gwarzo disclosed that more than 15,000 teachers have been promoted to various grade levels since the present administration assumed office. He urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by demonstrating commitment, hard work and dedication to their duties.

The Executive Secretary also commended the interviewing officials and representatives of the major education unions, including the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) and All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), for their cooperation and commitment to the successful conduct of the exercise. He appreciated their collective efforts in ensuring a fair, orderly and credible promotion interview.

Some of the teachers who took part in the interview expressed delight with the exercise, commending Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the opportunity to advance in their careers. They said the regular promotion exercise has boosted their morale and encouraged them to put more effort into their work.

Hauwa Wali Hands Over GGC Dala, Assumes PS Role

The immediate past Principal of Government Girls' College (GGC) Dala, Hauwa Nuhu Wali, has formally handed over the administration of the school following her appointment as Permanent Secretary in the Kano State Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Executive Secretary Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board, Hon. Rabi'u Sale Gwarzo, expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the appointment of Hauwa Nuhu Wali as Permanent Secretary. He said the appointment demonstrated the Governor's confidence in experienced education administrators and congratulated Wali on her new role.

Hon. Gwarzo, who was ably represented by the Director of Schools Management, Alhaji Sani Haladu, also announced the transfer of Hajiya Rabi Ibrahim Yakasai to Government Girls' College Dala as the school's new Principal. He urged her to consolidate on the achievements of her predecessor and work closely with staff, students and other stakeholders to sustain the school's tradition of academic excellence, discipline and moral values.

In her remarks, the outgoing Principal, Hauwa Nuhu Wali, expressed gratitude to the Kano State Government, the management of KSSSSMB, members of staff, students, parents and other stakeholders for the support and cooperation she received throughout her tenure as Principal. She pledged to continue serving Kano State with dedication and integrity in her new role as Permanent Secretary.

The event was attended by community and religious leaders, members of the Dala Old Girls Association (DOGA), school administrators, staff, students and other well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate Hajiya Hauwa Wali's successful tenure and welcome the new Principal.

The ceremony featured the formal presentation of handover documents, goodwill messages and special prayers for the success of Hajiya Hauwa Nuhu Wali as she assumes her new responsibilities as Permanent Secretary, and for Hajiya Rabi Ibrahim Yakasai as she assumes the leadership of Government Girls' College Dala.

KSSSSMB Announces Teachers' Promotion Interview Dates

The Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSSMB) has released the timetable for the July 2026 promotional interviews for eligible teachers across the state, with the exercise scheduled to commence on Monday, 10th August, 2026.

According to the Board, the interviews will run until Thursday, 13th August, 2026, and will be conducted simultaneously at nine designated interview centres from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.

The Board advised all eligible teachers to carefully check the released schedule to confirm their interview dates and assigned centres. Candidates are expected to report promptly at their designated venues with all necessary documents required for the exercise.

KSSSSMB noted that the promotional interview is a key stage in the promotion process and urged all eligible staff to comply with the schedule to ensure a smooth and successful exercise.

Speaking shortly after the announcement, the Executive Secretary of KSSSSMB, Hon. Rabi'u Sale Gwarzo, said the promotion interview exercise reflects the commitment of the Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to building a motivated, professional, and efficient teaching workforce.

Kano State Government Announces End of Third Term for 2025/2026 Academic Session

The Kano State Ministry of Education wishes to inform parents, guardians, proprietors of schools, and the general public that the 2025/2026 academic session will officially come to an end with the conclusion of the third term in all public and private schools across the state.

According to the approved school calendar, all day schools are to close for the third term on Friday, 31st July, 2026, while boarding schools will close on Saturday, 1st August, 2026.

The Ministry further announces that the 2026/2027 academic session will commence on Sunday, 7th September, 2026, for boarding school students, while day schools will resume on Monday, 8th September, 2026.

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, congratulates students, teachers, school administrators, and parents for the successful completion of another academic session. He commends their commitment, resilience, and cooperation throughout the year, which have contributed significantly to the progress of education in Kano State.

The Commissioner urges parents and guardians to ensure that their children make productive use of the holiday by engaging in educational, moral, and recreational activities that will enhance their academic and personal development. He also advises school proprietors to use the vacation period to carry out necessary maintenance and preparations ahead of the new academic session.

He wishes all students and education stakeholders a peaceful, safe, and rewarding holiday and looks forward to a successful commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session.
