He studied numerous professional courses at different institutions including Introduction to Epidemiology for Global Health; Leadership and Management in Health; Fundamentals of Global Health Research; and Economic Evaluation in Global Health at the University of Washington. However, he is an independent researcher whose work focuses on research and development for the benefits of both local and international communities. He published in different journals at both national and international levels. Usman attended Thousands of Conferences, Seminars and Workshops both nationally and internationally organized. He is currently a member of different associations both locally and internationally, among which are Nigerian Association of Health Educators (NAHE) and the International Association for Community Development (IACD).
