AKY STUDENT FORUM URGES KANO STATE RESIDENTS TO REGISTER FOR PERMANENT VOTER’S CARD

The AKY Student Forum, under the office of the Publicity Secretary, Habibu Nura, wishes to passionately call on the entire people of Kano State to urgently take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise by visiting the nearest Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) registration centers within their respective Local Government Areas.

This appeal comes at a critical time when civic participation and democratic responsibility are more important than ever. The Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) remains the only legal instrument that empowers citizens to exercise their fundamental right to vote and contribute meaningfully to the leadership and future of their communities, state, and the nation at large.

We wish to inform and remind the general public that the voter registration exercise is actively ongoing across all the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State, with designated INEC centers fully operational and accessible to eligible citizens. This presents a valuable and timely opportunity for all who have reached voting age, as well as those who are yet to register or need to update their registration details.

The AKY Student Forum strongly emphasizes that the process is simple, accessible, and designed to accommodate all eligible individuals. However, time is of the essence. We urge citizens not to wait until the final days, as last-minute rushes often lead to overcrowding, delays, and avoidable complications.

As students and active stakeholders in the future of our society, we believe that meaningful change begins with participation. We therefore call on:

- All youths across Kano State to rise to the occasion and secure their PVC without delay.
- Community leaders, parents, and guardians to encourage widespread participation among their members.

Kwankwasiyya Student Forum No Longer in Existence Majority Members Adopt New Identity as AKY Student Forum

This press release is issued to clarify recent misinformation circulating in the media regarding the status and structure of the former Kwankwasiyya Student Forum.
It has come to our attention that certain individuals, under the name “Kwankwasiyya Student Forum,” have publicly claimed that the reported defection of 70 percent of its members across Kano State is false and that the forum remains intact under its former structure. We wish to clearly and unequivocally inform the general public that these claims are misleading and do not reflect the current reality.
After a series of extensive consultations, meetings, and internal deliberations held across various tertiary institutions and local government chapters within Kano State, over 70 percent of the recognized members and executives of the former forum collectively resolved to dissolve the Kwankwasiyya Student Forum structure and adopt a new identity AKY Student Forum.
This decision was not taken lightly. It was driven by the shared conviction that student advocacy in Kano State must prioritize the collective interest, development, and progress of Kano above individual political ambitions. The newly formed AKY Student Forum has aligned itself with the vision and developmental agenda of the Executive Governor of Kano State, under the platform of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). The forum’s guiding principle is clear: Kano First.
The “Kano First” agenda places priority on policies and programs that directly benefit students, youths, and the broader population of Kano State — focusing on education reform, scholarship opportunities, skills development, infrastructure, and youth empowerment. Our movement is rooted in service, unity, and constructive engagement with government institutions to ensure tangible outcomes for students.

Kungiyar ɗalibai ta AKY STUDENT FORUM, wadda a baya aka fi sani da Kwankwasiyya Student Forum, ta gudanar da wani muhimmin taron domin bayyana dalilan da s**a sa ta yanke shawarar mara wa Mai Girma Gwamnan Jihar Kano baya tare da bin sa zuwa jam’iyyar APC mai mulki.
A matsayinta na ƙungiyar ɗalibai mai fafutukar siyasa da ci gaban ilimi, AKY STUDENT FORUM ta bayyana cewa wannan mataki ya samo asali ne daga kudurinta na ganin an samu cikakken sauyi da inganta harkar ilimi a Jihar Kano. Ƙungiyar ta jaddada cewa Mai Girma Gwamna, Abba Kabir Yusuf, yana ƙoƙari matuƙa wajen kawo sauyi da inganta ilimi da cigaban matasa a faɗin jihar kano.
A cewar Sakataren Yaɗa Labarai na ƙungiyar, Injiniya Habibu Nura, wanda ya kasance mamba a Kwamitin Tsakiya na Yakin Neman Zaɓen Shugaban Ƙasa da na Gwamna na shekarar 2023 a ƙarƙashin jam’iyyar New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), tare da dukkan mambobin Daraktan Harkokin Ɗalibai, sun amince da wannan matsaya bisa la’akari da muradun al’umma gaba ɗaya.
Ya bayyana cewa matakin bin gwamnan zuwa jam’iyyar All Progressives Congress (APC) ba wai don wata manufa ta kashin kai ba ce ko son zuciya na siyasa, sai dai saboda fifita muradun Jihar Kano sama da komai. Ya ƙara da cewa:
Hadin Kai da Gwamnatin Tarayya: Shiga APC zai ba Jihar Kano damar samun kyakkyawar alaƙa da Gwamnatin Tarayya, wanda hakan zai ƙara jawo manyan ayyukan raya ƙasa da tallafin ilimi da ababen more rayuwa.
Inganta Tsarin Ilimi: Ƙungiyar ta yi imanin cewa kasancewa a jam’iyya mai mulki zai taimaka wajen samar da tsare-tsare da kasafin kuɗi masu ɗorewa don gina makarantu, horas da malamai, da samar da kayan aiki na zamani.
