Short Skit: “Different, Not Less”

Scene: A classroom. Students are chatting. One child (Amina) sits quietly.

Teacher: Today is Children With Special Needs Day. Who can tell me what that means?

Student 1: It means… some children are different?

Teacher: Yes, but different how?
Student 2: Maybe they learn differently… or move differently.

(Amina drops her book. Some students look.)
Student 3 (whispers): She’s always like that…

Teacher (gently): Or maybe they just need a different kind of support.

(Teacher helps Amina pick up her book. Another student joins.)

Student 1: Amina, do you want help?
Amina (smiles): Yes, thank you.

Teacher: You see, kindness makes everyone stronger.

Student 2: So being different isn’t a weakness?
Teacher: No. It’s a reminder that everyone has value.

Amina: I may learn differently… but I still dream like you.

(All students join hands.)
All together: Different, not less. We all belong.
End.

For over 12 years, UIS has been running an all-inclusive system — without a single NGO support.
When many slept, we stayed committed.
When resources were limited, we remained determined.
And through it all, our special needs children have remained our priority.
But the truth is this:
We cannot continue to carry this vision alone.
If we truly want to sustain and upgrade the system for our special needs children — to provide better facilities, trained caregivers, learning materials, therapy support, and inclusive opportunities — we need partnership.
We are calling on NGOs, foundations, and kind-hearted organizations to support this mission.
Together, we can give every child the care, dignity, and opportunity they deserve.
Let us build a system that leaves no child behind.
