PRESS RELEASE

The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) has officially released the 2025 June/July Senior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School Certificate Examination (SAISSCE) Results.

Presenting the results on Monday, 22nd September, 2025, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Board, Professor Yahuza Sulaiman Imam stated that a total number of 40,259 candidates from Integrated Arabic and Islamic Secondary Schools across the country registered for the examination.

A breakdown of the result shows that 24,095 female candidates, representing 59.9% registered while 16,164 male candidates, representing 40.1% registered for the SAISSCE.

The results further revealed that 71% of the candidates scored credit and above in the five major subjects, including English and Mathematics.

Professor Yahuza Sulaiman Imam thanked the Federal Ministry of Education under the able leadership of the Honorable Minister of Education Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, States Ministries of Education as well as other Stakeholders for the support enjoyed prior to and during the examination exercise. He further commended the entire staff of NBAIS for putting all hands on deck for the overall success of the June/July SAISSCE.

The Registrar also announced that Registration for November/December 2025 SAISSCE External commences, 22nd September, 2025.

WHAT IS NBAIS?

I decided to write this short note about NBAIS caused by the several request of enquiries from individuals.

NBAIS is acronymly denote:
N: stands for National
B: stands for Board
A: stands for Arabic
I: stands for Islamic
S: stands for Studies
These are fully called as; National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies.

NBAIS is one among the national examination bodies which is equivalent to WAEC, NECO, etc. The NBAIS is a board combines all subjects in accordance of Nigerian Ministry of Educationvs syllabus like other examination bodies but it is based Islamic/Arabic examination board, because the compulsory subjects are:
1. English language
2. Mathematics
3. Arabic language, and
4. Islamic Studies

OWNERSHIP:
It's owned by Federal Government

QUALITY OF THE RESULTS:
It's approved at all Nigerian polytechnic, collaeges, universities and even abroad based on the approval given by the different institutions like National University Commission (NUC).
