ANNOUNCEMENT: COMMENCEMENT OF LAW SOCIETY JUDICIARY LAW REPORT PROJECT

The Law Society Judiciary is pleased to announce the official commencement of the Law Society Judiciary Law Report Project on Thursday, 19th February, 2026.

The Law Report Project is designed to simulate real courtroom proceedings, featuring both criminal and civil matters, appeals, and the delivery of judgments. This initiative is aimed at exposing members to practical advocacy, legal research, case analysis, and the procedural flow of cases from trial courts to appellate courts.

Hearing dates will be communicated periodically as proceedings progress until the final determination of cases.

All members are encouraged to participate actively and take full advantage of this unique opportunity to develop practical litigation skills.

THE LAW SOCIETY JUDICIARY,
AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY, Zaria,
under the leadership of Honorable Justice Muazu Farida Sani, paid a courtesy visit to the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

During the visit, members of the Law Society Judiciary met with several Justices of the Supreme Court and received inspiring words of wisdom, guidance, and best wishes.

The Judiciary proudly witnessed live proceedings at the Supreme Court of Nigeria observing justice at its highest level of interpretation and final determination.

Beyond the honour of the visit, we gained practical insights and institutional lessons that will enhance efficiency, decorum, and professionalism within our student judiciary.

The Justices commended the dedication and efforts of the ABU Law Society Judiciary, encouraging the members to remain committed to excellence and integrity in the legal profession.

Faces of the Law Society Judiciary

At the apex of our judicial system stands a leader whose vision and commitment to the rule of law serve as a guiding light for the entire student body. We are honored to officially unveil Hon. Justice Muazu Farida Sani, who holds the dual and distinguished mandate of Chief Justice of the Law Society and Chief Judge of the ABU-SRC Court for the 2025/2026 academic session.

As the head of the judiciary, her role is one of profound institutional leadership, ethical guardianship, and administrative excellence. On 4th February 2026, the Heads of Courts of the Law Society Judiciary, the Chief Registrar, and the Chief Justice of the Law Society paid a courtesy visit to the Dean, Student Affairs, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, *Prof. Sahalu B. Junaidu* at his office in Samaru Campus.

The visit was undertaken to formally introduce the Law Society Judiciary to the Dean and to discuss strategies for making the ABU-SRC Court more active through the enlightenment of students on the Samaru Campus about its adjudicatory role in resolving live matters arising between students and student associations.

During the visit, the Heads of Courts presented a proposal for the establishment of a courtroom within the Samaru Campus. They explained the nature, structure, and functions of the ABU-SRC Court, emphasizing the importance of a campus based courtroom for the effective adjudication of disputes involving students and associations.

The delegation also informed the Dean of the Judiciary’s plan to embark on a sensitization campaign across the Samaru Campus, an initiative which was warmly welcomed.

Overall, the visit was insightful and productive, with several issues discussed toward strengthening cooperation and enhancing the relationship between law students and other students on the Samaru Campus.
