🚨 PARENTS, PLEASE DON'T LEAVE YOUR CHILD'S EDUCATION ENTIRELY IN THE HANDS OF THE SCHOOL!
A new academic session has started, and while you are busy getting uniforms, books and school supplies ready, there are 5 things you should also be doing at home.
1️⃣ Have “the talk” with your child. 🗣️
Sit them down. Encourage them. Talk about the new session, their strengths, their weaknesses and what they can do differently this time around. Sometimes, a good conversation can change a child's mindset.
2️⃣ Set realistic targets. 🎯
Don't just tell your child, “You must come first.”
Set specific and achievable goals together. It could be improving from 60% to 75%, becoming better at Mathematics, reading more books or completing homework consistently.
3️⃣ Know what your child is learning. 📚
Get the school calendar and scheme of work. Don't wait until exams before asking, “What have they been teaching you?”
When you know what your child is learning, you can follow up properly.
4️⃣ Get help when necessary. 👨🏫
If your child is struggling with a subject, don't wait until the results come out before acting. Consider getting a qualified tutor or additional academic support early enough.
5️⃣ Build a strong relationship with your child. ❤️
Your child should be able to come to you when they are struggling—not only when they need money or school supplies. Talk to them. Listen to them. Know their friends. Understand their fears and aspirations.
Because here's the truth:
👉 A child who knows that both the school AND home are invested in their success is more likely to take their education seriously.
Let's make this academic session different. Don't just pay the school fees—participate in the education. 💯
Parents, which of these 5 do you think is the MOST important? 👇🏽
