In 1900, British Governor Hodgson demanded the Golden Stool — the soul of the Ashanti nation. The chiefs were silent.

Then Yaa Asantewaa spoke:

"If you, the men of Asante, will not go forward, then we, the women, will fight!"

She led 5,000 warriors, besieged the British fort for months, and became the ONLY woman to lead an Ashanti war.

They exiled her, but they never found the Stool.
