Last Saturday’s training workshop on Reading Quotient was more than just another professional development session; it was a space for reflection, connection, and renewed purpose.

As educators, we often focus on what we teach, but this experience challenged us to rethink how well our students are truly reading, understanding, and engaging with content.

Throughout the workshop, we explored the deeper meaning of reading beyond just decoding words, diving into comprehension, critical thinking, confidence, and the ability for learners to connect ideas both within and beyond the classroom.

It was inspiring to witness educators come together with one goal in mind: to build stronger readers and create more inclusive, engaging learning environments where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

We left not just with new knowledge, but with a renewed commitment to be more patient, more observant, and more innovative in our approach. Because when a child learns to read effectively, they don’t just succeed academically,they gain confidence, find their voice, and begin to understand the world around them.

There is no doubt that better days lies ahead for Education in Kaduna State. The drive of his Excellency Gov Uba Sani towards revitalising and improving the quality of education is more than commendable and have started yielding positive results.

HL Educational Company Limited had the honour of facilitating in the just concluded 2day capacity building workshop for all HOD's across the 23 LGA'S in the state. The workshop was organised by KADSUBEB in collaboration with UBEC.

The focus of the capacity building workshop was on Leadership and management towards improving academic performance, Leadership is at the heart of effective delivery in the school system, without which no meaningful or sustainable growth can be achieved.

KADSUBEB is indeed taking a lead when it comes to repositioning the quality of our public schools and most importantly the quality of teaching across the state.

Slow and steady Kaduna State through system strengthening is closing the gaps that does exist in the education system.
