For inside one small community for Pankshin, one girl wey dem call Tallen dey always like to ask questions. From small, she go look sky and ask, “Why the moon dey follow person?” Her papa go just laugh say, “Na book go answer you that one.” But book no too reach their side.
School dey far, and sometimes dem no even get teacher for weeks. Rain go fall, road go block, children go just dey house. But Tallen no give up. Every night she go sit near her mama’s lantern, dey read old book wey one NGO give her two years ago.
One day, Davar Aure iHub enter Pankshin with their local education outreach program. Dem no just come talk grammar, dem come show how learning fit start from small things for around you.
Dem teach dem how to use phone learn new skills, how to read even without fine classroom, and how to dream again.
Na there Tallen meet Aunty Janis, wey tell dem say, “Education no be only certificate. Na power, and every girl for here get right to am.”
Since that day, Tallen carry this thing for head. She start small reading group for her community. under mango tree, every Saturday. She dey teach small pikin how to read, how to count, and how to use storybook build confidence.
Now, people for the community dey call her “Teacher Tallen.” She still dey young, but she don teach plenty children how to read and write.
Education don turn her voice and her voice don turn hope.
Together, we fit build a Plateau where every child fit dream, learn, and lead. 💙
