The plateau state Executive Governor, Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong commissioned the wholly renovated Government Secondary School Shendam,which project was carried out by the plateau state universal basic education board (subeb) in collaboration with the UBE commission Abuja.
The event took place at the school premises in shendam on Saturday 15th September 2018. The Governor used the occasion to give the scorecard of his administration and further emphasized his comment towards ensuring the rapid development of the educational subsector of the state.
The occasion was graced by top government functionaries, including politicians,royal fathers and the representative of the UBEC Executive Secretary, Dr Hamid Boboyi.The Executive Chairman plateau subeb, Professor Matthew Sule in his address, described Governor Simon Lalong as educational-friendly leader and commend him for the regular payment of counterpart funds to the UBEC by his administration in the state,which assisted the Board in no small measure in the discharge of its mandate to the plateau-child.
Items commissioned by the Governor include,fencing of the school parameter,renovated blocks of classroom,newly constructed science model laboratory, renovated hostels,assembly hall and borehole.
