Bokkos is one interesting town. It is home to some of the most resilient people you’ll ever find; hardworking, hopeful, and deeply connected to the land. Yet, climate change isn’t just a distant idea here. Irregular rains, drying soils and new pressures on water and pasture have become part of everyday life for farmers and families across communities.

For CRADI, , , , and , “Climate resilience means being ready to anticipate, cope with, and recover from these changes,” using local knowledge, collective action and strengthened systems to protect livelihoods and wellbeing.

The feedback here is clear: Bokkos will not be defined by its challenges, but by its strength to adapt and thrive.

Catch the highlights.📌

You've seen the motion picture. Now, here are the still moments from the experience at Yelwan Zangam, Jos North LGA of Plateau State, where our climate action campaign came alive through a single powerful community performance under the BRIDGE Project implemented by Crest Research and Development Institute (CRADI), with funding support from .

While the video captured the movement, these photos hold the still moments, the expressions, the reflections, the conversations and the shared resolve to act on climate issues affecting the community.

Through performance art led by PODBETA NG, we created a space for awareness, responsibility and collective action.

This is how we bridge knowledge and action, one community at a time.

If you missed the “Bridge the Gap” awareness walk In Buruku, Benue state, don’t worry, we got you covered!!

While at Buruku, the climate conversation moved from dialogue to the streets.

Through the BRIDGE project implemented by Crest Research and Development Institute (CRADI), communities learned about the true impact of climate change. They more than just participated in the walk, they took ownership of the strategic response initiative.

Because of the project initiative, farmers are embracing improved practices, families are embracing the idea of tree planting to mitigate the effects of climate change, and local groups are rethinking how best to manage water and land.

The awareness walk led by CRADI and PODBETA NG brought together community leaders, women’s groups, persons with disabilities, and elders, each sharing how the trainings have strengthened their resilience and renewed their commitment to protecting shared resources.

This is what the BRIDGE project stands for: informed communities, practical solutions, and collective action rooted in local realities.

In Buruku, the stage became a meeting point for reflection and resolve. Through drama/performance art, the BRIDGE Project’s message moved beyond policy language into lived experience — connecting climate realities to everyday life in the community.

By telling familiar stories in familiar voices, the performance strengthened what the project stands for: informed participation, shared responsibility, and local ownership of climate solutions.

When people see themselves in the narrative, they do not just listen; they engage, question, and take responsibility. That is how sustainable action begins.

Still reflecting on the performance at Tudu Market in Bokkos LGA, Plateau State. It was more than a colourful display of culture and captivating entertainment. It was a moment of connection and purpose.

Beyond the vibrant scenes and rich traditions, the message truly landed. It resonated with the community in a way that made acceptance feel natural and collective action feel necessary. That is how meaningful climate response begins, with people seeing themselves in the message and choosing to act together.

What began as a simple theatre performance to promote climate awareness in Bokkos LGA turned into an experience beyond our expectations. The day became one of culture, dance, laughter, and performance, bridging the gap between community engagement and a shared commitment to climate action.

Climate affects us as individuals and communities, but we must learn how to adapt and work together for a sustainable future.

Keeping our environment clean, and recycling waste materials are proactive ways that we can protect our environment.

Each small action makes a big difference! So, what action will you take today?

So much colour, energy, and community spirit on the streets of Buruku🙌🏿

It was an exciting experience joining like minds and community advocates to drive home a very important message. With faces lit up in smiles and raised hands in solidarity, this edition of Bridge the Gap Climate Change Awareness Walk was much more than an observance, but a powerful reminder that climate action is strongest when communities move together.

Buruku showed up, spoke up, and walked for a more informed and resilient future.
