The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Mr Segun Aina, has assured candidates that the 2027 UTME registration process will be far less stressful than what was experienced in 2026.
Speaking at the board's inaugural meeting on August 3, Mr Aina announced plans to introduce a new pre-registration mobile platform designed to let candidates register from the comfort of their homes. The platform will feature fast sign-ups, offline data collection, and instant validation, cutting down on the delays and errors that have previously frustrated applicants.
According to the Registrar, the system will also scan and verify documents automatically, reducing the risk of wrong data entry and other irregularities during registration.
"We shall continue to simplify our processes, improve our communication, strengthen our customer support, embrace technology where it makes service easier, protect information with the highest standards of security, invest in our people, modernise the way we work, and build systems that are efficient, transparent, and worthy of the confidence Nigerians place in us," Mr Aina said.
Once fully operational, the new system is expected to reduce registration time from about 20 minutes to just two or three minutes, marking a major step toward aligning JAMB's processes with international standards and easing the university admission process for Nigerian students.
