The wings of the flying-fox are amazing.

Besides being used to fly, they can be used as rain-coats, as solar (warming) panels, as eyeshades to help sleep, as heat dispersing radiators, as sun shades, as fans to help cool down, and, as shown here, as a baby blanket.

🦇 Bats are one of the most under-studied yet uniquely important animals in the history of science.
Of all the numerous roles they play in our ecosystem, from pollination to seed dispersal to insect and pest control to production of natural manure and fertilizer, April 17th is set aside to appreciate bats.
Bats aren’t the only animal capable of infecting diseases, they are not evil blood sucking too.

They are simply not the regular animals you’ve come across. Today we appreciate their uniqueness and contribution to our world 🌎
