Today's Beautiful Hadith is about Character

Abu Hurayra (RA) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The worst of my community are those who speak a lot, those who are diffuse in speech and those who fill their mouth with words. The best of my community are the best of them in character."

(Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, Book 1, Hadith 1308)

It is important to be measured in our speech. Our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) has been described as remaining silent for long periods and when he spoke, his speech was comprehensive and to the point. He (SAW) kept three things from the people: he did not find fault, nor abuse anyone nor seek weakness in anyone. He kept himself from three things: showing off, excessiveness and that which did not concern him. He only spoke of the things from which he hoped to gain blessings. Alhamdulillah! If we tried to imbibe his character, how much better would we all be for it? May Allah (SWT) allow us to be good in our speech and character - Ameen!
