It is our collective responsibility to defend and uphold the dignity of human life.
On Saturday, we were privileged to welcome Prof. George Ugwu, Commissioner for Health, Enugu State, as the keynote paper presenter at our Pro-Life Convention themed "Bodily Autonomy vs. Fetal Rights: A New FrameworkforJustice. " His insightful presentation enriched discussions on the value and protection of human life.
The event also witnessed the induction of new members into the movement, strengthening our commitment to promoting a culture that respects and safeguards life at every stage.

The roots of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit are indeed profoundly connected to the mystery of Pentecost—the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, empowering them for mission. While the canonical and institutional foundation of the congregation traces historically to 1703 through the work of Claude Poullart des Places in Paris, the Spiritan tradition understands its spiritual origin as flowing from Pentecost itself: a congregation animated by the Spirit for evangelization, service to the poor, and missionary witness.
At just twenty-four years old, Claude Poullart des Places gathered poor seminarians and founded the Seminary of the Holy Ghost on Pentecost Sunday, 1703. That act became the seed from which the Spiritan family emerged. Later, the congregation was renewed and expanded through the missionary vision of Francis Libermann in the nineteenth century.
The Spiritan charism has always emphasized:
openness to the Holy Spirit,
mission to the marginalized,
simplicity and availability,
and courageous evangelization.
“We are Spiritans! We bear the mark of the Spirit!” is therefore not merely a slogan; it expresses identity, vocation, and mission.
