The Ingawa Fellowship Forum (IFF) proudly marks its first anniversary today, commemorating one year of purposeful service, educational advancement, and community-driven interventions aimed at improving the lives of the people of Ingawa Local Government Area and beyond.
Founded on 11 June 2025 under the leadership of Engr. Mustapha Samaila Ingawa, the Forum emerged from a shared vision of fostering educational excellence, empowering young people, supporting vulnerable members of society, and contributing meaningfully to community development. Within just one year of operation, IFF has transformed this vision into tangible outcomes, investing over ₦11 million in programs and initiatives that have directly impacted students, teachers, educational institutions, persons with disabilities, and the wider community.
Over the past twelve months, the Forum has demonstrated a commitment to expanding access to education through various scholarship and sponsorship programs. This commitment has seen the award of fully funded scholarships to students with disabilities, engineering students, nursing students, and several other deserving undergraduates. In one of its flagship interventions, the Forum successfully facilitated the disbursement of ₦20,000 scholarships to 200 indigenous university students, while also recognizing academic excellence through merit awards of ₦100,000 granted to First Class graduates. Beyond financial assistance, IFF provided accommodation support to students studying at tertiary institutions.
Recognizing that educational success begins long before university admission, the Forum invested significantly in programs designed to prepare and inspire younger learners. More than one hundred candidates benefited from the payment of their full UTME registration fees, transportation, and feeding expenses, while prospective applicants also received specialized Refresher lessons for SS3 students & Computer-Based Test (CBT) training to enhance their examination preparedness. The maiden Annual Orientation Programme for A-Level students further reflected the Forum's commitment to strengthening academic performance and career readiness among young people across Ingawa Local Government Area.
The Forum's interventions also extended to the promotion of academic excellence and intellectual development at the grassroots level. Through the organization and sponsorship of inter-primary school quiz competitions and career guidance lectures for secondary school students, IFF provided platforms that encouraged healthy competition, academic curiosity, and informed career choices among young learners. These initiatives have continued to inspire students to pursue excellence and envision greater possibilities for their future.
In line with its inclusive development agenda, IFF remained steadfast in supporting persons with disabilities through educational sponsorships and direct assistance. The Forum sponsored the "Educate the Uneducated" programme and provided visa support to its Representative for Persons with Disabilities, reinforcing its belief that every individual deserves equal opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to society.
The Forum also recognized the critical role of educators and professionals in societal development. Consequently, it sponsored professional development programmes for teachers and Forum members, facilitated the payment of professional licensing fees for Nursing, Midwifery, and Pharmacy students, and commenced the payment of monthly allowances to volunteer teachers serving at Government Junior Secondary School, Ingawa. These interventions were designed not only to support individual growth but also to strengthen the quality of education and service delivery within the community.
Furthermore, IFF extended support to educational institutions through targeted infrastructure and resource interventions. These included funding assistance for the development of a computer laboratory at Government Senior Secondary School, Ingawa, and support for the procurement of classroom furniture for Madrasatu Saqafatul Islamiyya Ingawa, thereby contributing to the creation of more conducive learning environments for students.
The collective value of these interventions amounts to ₦11,005,520, representing one of the most significant community-driven educational investments undertaken within a single year by a youth-led organization in Ingawa Local Government Area.
As the Forum celebrates this important milestone, it expresses profound gratitude to its Founder, Patrons, Executive Officers, Members, Partners, Donors, Volunteers, and all stakeholders whose support, trust, and sacrifices have made these achievements possible. The accomplishments recorded over the past year serve as a testament to the power of collective action, visionary leadership, and community solidarity.
While taking pride in the successes of its inaugural year, the Ingawa Fellowship Forum remains focused on the future. The Forum reaffirms its commitment to expanding educational opportunities, strengthening youth empowerment initiatives, supporting vulnerable groups, and implementing sustainable community development programmes that will continue to transform lives for generations to come.
As we celebrate one year of impact, we do so with renewed determination, greater ambition, and an unwavering belief that together, we can build a brighter and more prosperous future for Ingawa and its people.
