The UNESCO Kwara Team, led by Mr. Taye Odedeji, joined distinguished academics, researchers, colleagues, and well-wishers in celebrating an outstanding achievement at the GLOCALISE Patent Certification Ceremony, held in honour of Prof. Nafisat Adedokun-Sh*ttu.

The event marked the official presentation of Prof. Adedokun-Sh*ttu's Patent Certificate, a remarkable milestone that reflects her unwavering commitment to research excellence, innovation, and the development of impactful solutions that contribute to national and global advancement.

Representing UNESCO Kwara, Mr. Taye Odedeji congratulated Prof. Adedokun-Sh*ttu on this prestigious accomplishment, describing the patent certification as a testament to her dedication, resilience, and visionary leadership in promoting innovation and knowledge creation. He noted that such achievements inspire researchers, educators, and young innovators to pursue excellence while translating research into practical solutions that benefit society.

This groundbreaking development took place at the prestigious Materials and Metallurgical Engineering Department, showcasing an ongoing commitment to advancing indigenous technology and solving real-world challenges through hands-on research.

A huge congratulations to Prof. Ismaila Idowu Ahmed - the brilliant minds and engineers behind this project. Thank you for continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible.

Prof. Ismaila Idowu Ahmed of The University of Ilorin, Nigeria, invents a ground breaking "Syngeing Stick" Device That uses Liquefied Gas as source of fuel for burning of Rams, Cattles and other animals in Abbattoirs, Restaurants & Industries.

This device is a prefered alternative to the traditional method of using kerosene which is not Eco-friendly.

Today at the DVC RTI office, Prof. M. A. Etudaiye (Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Technology & Innovation, UNILORIN) and the Director of the Laboratory to Product (LABTOP) Centre proudly presented 8 Patent Certificates and 1 Copyright Certificate to our outstanding researchers and inventors.

This is a massive milestone for research, technological advancement, and the innovation ecosystem at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Congratulations to all the brilliant minds who are turning their research into recognized, impactful products! Keep pushing boundaries.

The atmosphere was intellectually charged at the Unilorin Research & Industrial Summit 2026 (URIS 2026)!

This landmark event was proudly organized by the Centre for Laboratory to Product in collaboration with FETiCON 2026, the Centre for Research and In-House Training (CREDIT), and the Technical and Entrepreneurship Centre (TEC), University of Ilorin.

We were deeply honored to host His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV (Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, FUNAAB).

Delivering a powerful lecture titled "Innovation as a Tool for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria," His Royal Majesty challenged the University of Ilorin to lead the charge in driving research and innovations that solve real societal problems and empower millions of SMEs nationwide.
