The UNESCO Kwara Team, led by Mr. Taye Odedeji, joined distinguished academics, researchers, colleagues, and well-wishers in celebrating an outstanding achievement at the GLOCALISE Patent Certification Ceremony, held in honour of Prof. Nafisat Adedokun-Sh*ttu.

The event marked the official presentation of Prof. Adedokun-Sh*ttu's Patent Certificate, a remarkable milestone that reflects her unwavering commitment to research excellence, innovation, and the development of impactful solutions that contribute to national and global advancement.

Representing UNESCO Kwara, Mr. Taye Odedeji congratulated Prof. Adedokun-Sh*ttu on this prestigious accomplishment, describing the patent certification as a testament to her dedication, resilience, and visionary leadership in promoting innovation and knowledge creation. He noted that such achievements inspire researchers, educators, and young innovators to pursue excellence while translating research into practical solutions that benefit society.

The ceremony also highlighted the growing importance of protecting intellectual property and fostering a culture of innovation within higher institutions. Participants commended Prof. Adedokun-Sh*ttu's contributions through the GLOCALISE initiative and acknowledged her role in advancing research that addresses real-world challenges.

Today at the DVC RTI office, Prof. M. A. Etudaiye (Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Technology & Innovation, UNILORIN) and the Director of the Laboratory to Product (LABTOP) Centre proudly presented 8 Patent Certificates and 1 Copyright Certificate to our outstanding researchers and inventors.

This is a massive milestone for research, technological advancement, and the innovation ecosystem at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Congratulations to all the brilliant minds who are turning their research into recognized, impactful products! Keep pushing boundaries.

URIS 2026 offered a unique opportunity for networking. Superb summit, insightful conversation, visionary minds.

It was such a powerful convergence of the Academia, Industry & Government.

This was the defining spirit of URIS 2026! The event served as a dynamic launchpad for researchers and innovators to bring their ideas to life.

​The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Egbewole, proudly led the exhibition tour, accompanied by the Director of the LABTOP Centre, Prof. M. J. Saka, and our distinguished Guest Speaker, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi (Odundun IV, Aragbiji of Iragbiji), along with his delegates.

​From pioneering food products and advanced agricultural machines to cutting-edge smart city designs, the energy in the room was unmatched as researchers passionately explained how their inventions solve everyday problems.

​As a Centre, we are making a bold statement: "Our research output will no longer gather dust on shelves and in journals." We are bringing our innovations to the world!

The atmosphere was intellectually charged at the Unilorin Research & Industrial Summit 2026 (URIS 2026)!

This landmark event was proudly organized by the Centre for Laboratory to Product in collaboration with FETiCON 2026, the Centre for Research and In-House Training (CREDIT), and the Technical and Entrepreneurship Centre (TEC), University of Ilorin.

We were deeply honored to host His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV (Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, FUNAAB).

Delivering a powerful lecture titled "Innovation as a Tool for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria," His Royal Majesty challenged the University of Ilorin to lead the charge in driving research and innovations that solve real societal problems and empower millions of SMEs nationwide.

​The summit facilitated a dynamic convergence of inventors from the university community and beyond, providing a platform to exhibit their unique and groundbreaking inventions.
