I wrote this article in 2021 and I stumbled on it again. Has anything changed as Nigeria turns 64?
For the fact that I was not yet born at the time of independence, I heard from the elders that Nigeria was so great in terms of economic standards, well structured social facilities and educational standards.
I was told that our road networks were so fantastic and durable,
I also read it in history books that infrastructural facilities were superb in Nigeria,
That our electricity was stable,
And there was free education with adequate resources provided by the government,
Our economic activities were so booming to the extent of exchanging $1 with #1 in foreign exchange market.
Our immediate environment then was free from insecurity and people could travel as far as possible in any time without any fear,
Youths were given opportunities to work in any companies of their choices after schools,
Scholarships then were feasible and evenly distributed among the best without any connections ,
Our natural resources were adequately utilized and evenly distributed,
Our health care facilities were one of the best in Africa,
There was a peaceful co-existence among different religious groups,
There was total commitment of our political classes towards serving the masses for development,
The right peoples were appointed to the right posts,
My fellow Nigerians reading this article, are we still in the same country where the aforementioned issues were effectively practiced?
WHAT went wrong with our country called Nigeria?
Since I was born, we used to hear the saying that *Nigeria will be great* till now the slogan remains the same,
How do we get out of the mess now in Nigeria as it clocks 64?

Yoruba Movie called "LISABI" is a parable movie towards our bad leaders in Nigeria. Its not just an ordinary movie but a warning to the oppressors in this country of ours. As a typical Yoruba man, I will just plead to our leaders to do the needful before things get out of hand. People are not happy, people are suffering, people are in serious crisis, things are not working, the hardworking masses are still crying but the oppressors are not bothered.
Message to our leaders. Masses are not happy!!!! Listen to the masses!!!!!
