FUNATO SETS OCTOBER 2 DEADLINE FOR 2026/2027 ADMISSION REGISTRATION

The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO), has announced the final deadline for candidates seeking admission into its various programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The university’s registration portal will remain accessible until Friday, October 2, 2026. All prospective candidates are advised to complete their registration before 12:00 midnight on the stated date.

Candidates who are yet to register are encouraged to take advantage of the remaining period, as the university has described the deadline as the final closure of the registration portal.

AFIT ANNOUNCES 2026/2027 RESUMPTION, REGISTRATION AND LECTURE DATES

The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, has announced the resumption date and registration schedule for all undergraduate and Diploma students for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Students are expected to resume on Monday, October 19, 2026, while the students’ portal will be open for registration from October 19 to Friday, October 30, 2026.

First Semester lectures will commence on Monday, November 2, 2026. The mandatory 75% attendance requirement for eligibility to sit for semester examinations will also begin from the same date.

Late registration will be allowed from November 2 to Friday, November 6, 2026, with a ₦10,000 late registration fee. The registration portal will subsequently close on November 7, 2026.

All AFIT students are advised to take note of the dates and comply accordingly.

FUHSI OPENS 2026/2027 SUPPLEMENTARY POST-UTME REGISTRATION FOR FOUR NEW PROGRAMMES

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun (FUHSI), Osun State, has commenced supplementary Post-UTME registration for the 2026/2027 academic session following the approval of four new undergraduate programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The registration is open to candidates who chose FUHSI as their first-choice institution or are willing to change to the university as their first choice on JAMB CAPS. Eligible candidates must have scored a minimum of 180 in the 2026 UTME.

The available programmes are B.Sc. Healthcare Administration and Hospital Management, B.Sc. Social Work, B.Sc. Medical Physics and B.Sc. Chemistry.

Candidates are required to meet the specified UTME subject combinations and O’Level requirements for their chosen programme. They are also advised to ensure that their O’Level results are uploaded to JAMB CAPS before completing the registration.

Registration commenced on Monday, September 28, 2026, and will close on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Candidates should complete their applications before the deadline.

FEDERAL UNIVERSITY LOKOJA REOPENS 2026/2027 POST-UTME PORTAL FOR NECO CANDIDATES

The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has briefly reopened its 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening portal for UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates who have recently obtained their NECO results and are seeking admission into the university.

The reopening provides affected candidates an opportunity to participate in the screening exercise after accessing their O’Level results. The university has emphasised that candidates must upload their O’Level results correctly on the JAMB CAPS/e-Facility, as admission cannot be processed without the required upload.

The portal will remain open until 12 midnight on Friday, October 2, 2026. Candidates who are yet to complete the screening are advised to take advantage of the brief reopening and ensure that all required information is correctly submitted.

BUK INDUCTS 310 ALLIED HEALTH GRADUATES INTO PROFESSIONAL BODIES

Bayero University Kano (BUK) has inducted 310 graduates of its Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS) into their respective professional bodies.

The induction ceremony, held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Convocation Arena, New Campus, marked the University’s 12th induction for Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Sciences and Medical Radiography, 28th for Physiotherapy and 5th for Doctor of Optometry.

The inductees comprised:

• 74 Doctor of Optometry
• 87 Medical Laboratory Science
• 74 Nursing Sciences
• 39 Medical Radiography
• 36 Physiotherapy

The graduates took their professional oaths before representatives of their respective regulatory bodies.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Haruna Musa, congratulated the inductees and urged them to see graduation as the beginning of their professional journey. He encouraged them to continue learning, engage in research and adopt Artificial Intelligence responsibly.

The induction lecture focused on the responsible use of AI in healthcare education and practice, with Prof. Muhammad Auwal Ladan cautioning graduates to verify AI-generated information, protect confidential data and avoid relying on AI as a substitute for professional knowledge.

JAMB GIVES UPDATE ON CHANGE OF NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH REQUESTS

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has provided an update on requests concerning the change of name and date of birth on candidates’ records.

The development followed a candidate’s request to JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, for an update on the process, which he had earlier indicated would be addressed before the end of September.

Responding to the enquiry, Prof. Aina explained that the delay is outside JAMB’s control because the process requires the Board to liaise with other government agencies.

He stated that JAMB is working to complete the process as quickly as possible, adding that the Board is trying to accomplish in weeks what would normally take months.

Candidates awaiting the change of name or date of birth service are advised to be patient and follow JAMB’s official communication channels for an announcement when the process becomes available.

JAMB RESTORES CAPS AFTER 96-HOUR DISRUPTION, URGES SCHOOLS TO ACCELERATE 2026/2027 ADMISSIONS

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), which was unavailable for about 96 hours, was fully restored on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

The Board attributed the temporary disruption to an administrative challenge involving its hosting organisation and apologised for the inconvenience caused to candidates, institutions and other stakeholders.

With CAPS now operational, JAMB has directed tertiary institutions to accelerate their admission processes and recover the time lost during the disruption.

For the 2026/2027 academic session, the agreed admission deadlines are:

• Public Universities: October 31, 2026
• Private Universities: November 30, 2026
• Other Tertiary Institutions: December 31, 2026

JAMB urged candidates to promptly accept admission offers on CAPS when offered.

Candidates who were awaiting the 2026 NECO results are also advised to immediately upload and/or verify their O’Level results to ensure they are available for admission consideration.

JAMB also stated that it is putting measures in place to strengthen CAPS and reduce the impact of similar disruptions in the future.

Candidates are advised to regularly monitor their JAMB CAPS profiles as institutions intensify the 2026/2027 admission process.
