The Provost of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem has charged lecturers and other members of staff to be alive and responsive to their duties at all times.

The is also as he urged students of the health technology training institution to take their studies serious, assuring them that the College management will support them to achieve excellence in their academic dreams.

The Provost stated these while addressing both staff and students at the 2026 inter-denominational prayer programme organised to commence activities at the College in the new year.

He called on lecturers and members of staff to continue to pursue academic excellence for themselves and the students in 2026, stressing that the institution has a name to protect as one of the best health technology training institution in this part of the world.

Dr Raheem while urging lecturers to continue to pursue individual academic growth, said this became necessary so that they wont be found wanting by the time the College is upgraded to a Polytechnic.

While assuring of his support to any staff who is ready to pursue further academic aspirations, the Provost solicited for the cooperation of every member of staff to continue help the college to produce quality health professionals.

According to him,"I warmly welcome you back to work after Christmas and New Year Break which lasted four weeks. It is prayers that we remain alive in good health to witness many more celebrations.

"As I welcome you into the brand new year 2026, I want everyone be more alive and responsive to their duties. Let us all continue to work hard and protect the reputation of this great College as one of the best health technology training institution around.

"I urge you to do away with lackadesical attitude at work, perform your duties with utmost seriousness and dedication. See your students as your children, and have it in mind that you must give your best to them, after all that is why we are all here and receiving salaries.

"Like I have always done, I once again encourage you to pursue higher academic qualifications in addition to ones you already have, it is for your own good and for our students. I implore you to commence now, and I assure you of whatever support you may require. Seek for more knowledge please". He stated.

The inter-denominational prayers which brought together both staff students saw prayers rendered in both the Islamic and Christian way as the new year was committed into the hands of God for guidance and protection.

The Council Chairman of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Hon. Abayomi Adegoke has felicitated with the entire management, staff and students of the institution on the occassion of the new year celebration.

Adegoke conveyed his message in a New Year statement made available to journalists through the College Public Relations Officer, Kingsley Omoyeni, where he appreciated them for their support in the outgone year 2025.

He also expressed appreciation to the State Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke and his government for their support and for the Governor's resolve and determination to turn the fortunes of the State's health education sector around for good.

The Chairman urged all stakeholders to continue to work in unity for the progress of the College and the entire State, while also admonishing students to take their studies serious in the new year and shun all vices that could truncate their academics.

Hon. Adegoke's statement reads in part, "As we welcome the new year 2026, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the management, academic and non-academic staff, students of our College, as well as the government and good people of Osun State.

"The new year presents us with hope, fresh opportunities and shared responsibility to build on the gains of the past year. I commend the management for their leadership and sense of duty, I appreciate the staff for their dedication and professionalism and urge our students to remain focused, disciplined and committed to achieving academic excellence.

"On behalf of the Governing Council, I re-affirm our commitment to strengthening governance, supporting institutional development, and creating an enabling enviroment for teching, learning and service delivery in line with the vision of the Osun State government.

"I express my gratitude to his excellency, Asiwaju Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke and the government for their support and investment in education and health manpower development, which remain critical to the progress of the State. May God continue to endow the Governor with strength, wisdom and devine guidiance.

"As we journey through 2026, I urge all stakeholders to continue to work together in unity, dedication and shared purpose for the growth of our institution and the advancement of our State.

"I wish you all a peaceful, productive, and fulfilling new year". He stated.

The Provost, Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem has congratulated both staff and students of the institution for witnessing the begining of year 2026 alive and in good health.

This is just as the Provost thanked especially members of staff for their cooperation and support in the outgone year 2025, which made the College to have a steady growth and development.

Dr Raheem stated these in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Thursday on the occassion of the new year celebration.

He urged both staff and students of the health training institution to start the year with a renewed vigour and strenth to continue to move the institution forward as one of the best health technology training institutions around. He prayed that the new year bring prosperity and progress to all and sundry.

The statement reads in part, "As we welcome 2026, I extend my warmest greetings to all staff and students of Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa. It is my prayer that this year bring us prosperity, progress, and fulfillment of our aspirations.

"I express my gratitude for your unwavering support and contributions to our institution's growth over the years. Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones, together we have maintained the reputation of our great College as one of the best health technology training institution in this part of the country and I am super excited about the opportunities ahead.

"In 2026, i want us to continue to pursue academic excellence, we will continue to push the frontiers of knowledge and innovation among our students for that is our main purpose of being in the College.

"We must also strengthen our community engagement, we will strengthen our partnerships and collaborations to drive positive change in our emviroment, Ilesa and environs must feel us positively as an institution and we must not joke with pur personal growth as we will ensure that we support each other in achieving our goals and realizing our potential.

OSCO-HEALTH Ilesa Closes For Christmas, New Year Break...

..Board Chairman, Provost urges modest celebrations...

The Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, has announced a four-week break for students ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities.

The institution directed students to proceed on vacation to celebrate the season with their families and loved ones.

The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Registrar of the college, Moshood Afolabi, and made available to journalists in Ilesa on Friday.

According to the statement, all academic activities at the college will be suspended from Friday, December 19, 2025, to Monday, January 12, 2026.

It stated that normal academic activities would resume immediately after the holiday period, in line with the institution’s academic calendar.

In a separate statement, the Chairman of the Governing Board, Hon Abayomi Adegoke, and the Provost of the college, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem, jointly conveyed goodwill messages to staff and students.

They wished members of the college community a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance.

The board chairman and the provost encouraged staff and students to use the holiday period to rest and spend quality time with their families.

They urged members of the institution to celebrate the season modestly and remain mindful of people in need within their communities.

The statement read in part, “Let us strive to celebrate the Christmas and New Year in moderation and extend love to our neighbours.”

It added, “This period should be a time of deep reflection, with specific plans and direction for the coming year 2026.”

The statement further advised that the holiday should be used to refocus and restrategise, “so that we can all go into the New Year with renewed vigour to succeed.”
