Do you forget easily what you read?
• Read more than others and do it patiently.
• Create mnemonics.
• Let your mind stay filled with what you’ve read. Think about it randomly, while cooking, resting, or doing other activities.
• What you consistently think about will stay with you.
• Studying doesn’t happen only when you’re with your books. You should always be in study mode.
Do you struggle to understand what you read?
• First, let someone who understands it explain it to you before you read.
This could be a tutor, coursemate, senior colleague, or anyone knowledgeable.
Do you lose focus easily?
• You need patience and intentionality.
• Patience to reread when necessary.
• Intentionality to deliberately pull your wandering mind back to what you’re studying.
Can’t study for long periods at a stretch?
• Study for as long as you can, but don’t leave the study environment.
• Rest there. Relax there. Even sleep there if necessary.
• Then resume.
• Read. Pause. Read. Pause. Read again.
Do you feel lazy about studying?
• Constantly remind yourself why you must study.
• The consequences of not studying are not what you want to face.
• An A grade is attractive. Excellence stands out. Good results open doors. Don’t you want good things?
• Those with good grades don’t always feel like studying.
• They don’t study only when they feel like it, they study because it’s necessary.
Whatever your challenge is, you can still achieve excellent results.
You can earn an A. Those you admire for their intelligence also face their own struggles with studying, they simply don’t let those challenges stop them. You shouldn’t either.
Stop dwelling on the difficulty. Find a way to succeed despite it.Do you forget easily what you read?

Never too late to post! Our Director Engineering Tutorials (R-H), AIYEPEGHA Ebunoluwa Oluwadamilola(a graduate and an award winner from the department of Mechanical Engineering) and his friend ADIGUN Gbolahan Afeez(L-H) during their convocation last session!!!
Gbolahan taught MSE 305 (Mechanics of Materials – 20/21 session, CHE 305/306(Engineering Analysis I and II– 21/22, 22/23, 23/24 sets) with outstanding results.
He's a FIRST CLASS graduate from the Department of Civil Engineering and also the best graduating Student of his set with a CGPA of 4.79.
WE appreciate all you did..
"Great students aren’t defined by what they already know, but by how boldly they grow."
Reflection:
This week, don’t measure yourself by perfection or speed. Measure yourself by progress. Every formula you finally understand, every paragraph you digest, every concept you wrestle with is laying bricks for a stronger, sharper version of you. Show up, stay consistent, and your future self will thank you for today’s effort.
You’ve got this, happy Sunday and Happy New week...

*What is a Model and Prototype?*
-A prototype is the actual system or structure (like a real dam, ship, or pipeline) that we want to study or build.
-A model is a small-scale replica of the prototype used for experiments or analysis.
-Models help engineers test performance, safety, and flow behavior before constructing the real system.
-Using these similarities, data from the model can be scaled up to predict how the prototype will behave in real life.

Why Some Students Learn Faster Than Others or seem to perform better than others
Ever noticed how some students seem to “get it” immediately, while others have to read the same thing three times before it sticks?
Here is the method.
1. They understand their learning style: Some people learn best by listening, others by seeing, and some by doing. Fast learners know what works best for them, and they stick to it.
2. They understand their timing: Some are most active during the day while some are most active at night, they know which works best for them and they stick to it instead of trying to copy someone's method.
3. They focus on understanding not memorizing or cramming: Instead of cramming words, they try to understand the idea behind it. Once you understand something deeply, you rarely forget it.
4. They study smart, not hard: They use tricks like summarizing, teaching others, or breaking topics into smaller chunks not just reading for hours. They also know how to study their teachers to know the emphasis.
5. They take a break to rest their brains: You actually learn faster when you take breaks, sleep well, and stay calm. Your brain needs time to process and store new information. You can also break your reading into sections.
6. They stay consistent : Even 20 minutes of study daily is better than 5 hours once a week. Learning loves consistency, not cramming.
7. They ask questions when unclear or necessary: They don't keep silent when unclear. They don't allow it to pile up.
Follow the strategy and see your learning get more interesting..
*Monday Motivation 🌅*
“Discipline weighs ounces, but regret weighs tons.” - Jim Rohn
Every Monday is a reminder that your goals are still waiting for you, but they won’t wait forever. The small acts of discipline you practice today-studying an extra hour, refining your engineering project, or staying focused instead of scrolling, all stack up quietly into something powerful.
💡 Application Tip:
Instead of trying to do everything today, pick one difficult task that matters most to your long-term goal and finish it no matter what. Momentum is built one completed challenge at a time.
Enjoy the week!!!
