The Life Sciences occupy a central position in and will contribute to key quality of life issues in medicine, environmental protection, the sustainable exploitation of natural resources and climate change, as well as wealth creation. Some of the most significant scientific discoveries will continue to be made in the bioscience. They will also be at the centre of many of the ethical issues that the society in general is facing.
