Men are key partners in advancing gender equality. By advocating for women's rights, challenging stereotypes, and sharing household duties, men contribute to a more inclusive and equal society.
At the Center for Gender and Social Policy Studies, we encourage men to join the conversation, support gender education, and actively participate in creating lasting change.
Together, we can break down barriers and ensure equality for all.

Stopping gender-based violence (GBV) begins with awareness, but it takes all of us; individuals, communities, and institutions, working together to make lasting change. At the Centre for Gender and Social Policy Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University, we’re equipping people with the knowledge and skills to prevent violence before it starts.
Here’s how YOU can help:
Educate Yourself & Others: Understanding the root causes of GBV—like gender inequality and harmful social norms—is key. Start conversations about respect and equality with those around you.
Challenge Gender Stereotypes: Break the cycle of harmful beliefs and speak out against toxic masculinity. Change begins with unlearning stereotypes.
Promote Healthy Relationships: Advocate for open communication and emotional intelligence in relationships to prevent violence.
Support Survivors: Be a lifeline. Listen, believe, and connect those affected by abuse to professional support.
We can’t afford to stay silent. Let’s unite for a future free of violence.
