We officially began Socio-éducatif in the Department of Foreign Languages today. This programme is aimed at improving our speaking skills of the foreign languages we study— French, German and Portuguese.
Beyond the theory we learn in the four walls of the classroom, we need to challenge ourselves to converse in the language and be practical with it. So the socio-éducatif programme will feature debates, quizzes and symposiums where we gather to discuss key issues that students can relate to.
The French students from Part 1 and Part 2 debated on these two topics:
“L’argent fait-il le bonheur?” which denotes “Does money bring happiness?”
“L’université prepare-t-elle vraiment les étudiants à la vie réelle?” which begs the question “does university prepare students for reality/after school life?”
Cheers to the department.👊🔥
