The International Day of the girl child is a day where we focus on the education, safety and rights of the girl child and the sole objective is to make the girl child an integral and active part of the world's progress.
We are dedicated to the growth of the girl child everywhere around the world and we stand with the world, not just today, but every day, to promote and fight for the education, safety and rights of the girl child.
The girl child deserves more, more than just a place in the kitchen or the home. A place where her voice is heard, taken into account, respected, and acknowledged. A place where her voice matters and a place where she matters.

As days became weeks and weeks became months,
steadily, slowly and surely, we inched onwards to the vision once written.
What started off as a dream of one person became an organization for children and with the help of gifts of men, men and women turned brothers and sisters, we press on and inch forward every single day.
We do not forget that which brought us here and made us come alive, even now, it burns us more and ignites us to do more, be more and achieve more.
So, with a year beneath our belt with experiences gathered, connections made, communities bridged, commitments fortified, strength renewed, we forge on ahead to empower the future generations through mentoring, coaching and tutoring, to ensure that the future once envisioned never becomes bleak and that the promise once made at the beginning remains through as we continue the race.
To those who have been with us from the very beginning, we say thank you, we couldn't have gotten here or done any of these without you. To those just joining, we say welcome and we are glad that you are doing this with us. To everyone, we say let's do this again with renewed vigor and immense strength. Let's walk this path once more and light up the torches of the future generations.
We are TFA and we are here for you!!!

While it can be normal for a teenager to lack confidence at times, people with self-esteem issues normally view themselves differently to how others view them.
Low self-esteem can be particularly hard for young people especially when they’re doing things like starting high school or work, and forming new friendships and relationships.
Positive self-esteem for teens is important as it allows them to try new things, take healthy risks and solve problems. In turn, their learning and development will be productive and will set them up for a healthy and positive future.

Every child is different. Self-esteem may come easier to some kids than others. And some kids face things that can lower their self-esteem. But even if a child's self-esteem is low, it can be raised.
Here are things parents can do to help kids feel good about themselves.
1. Help your child learn to do things.
2. Praise your child, but do it wisely.
3.Focus on strengths. Pay attention to what your child does well and enjoys.
4.Let kids help and give. Self-esteem grows when kids get to see that what they do matters to others.
5.Be a good role model.
As kids grow, self-esteem can grow too. Any time kids try things, do things, and learn things can be a chance for self-esteem to grow. This can happen when kids:
• Make progress toward a goal
• Learn things at school
• Make friends and get along
• Learn skills — music, sports, art, cooking, tech skills
• Practice favorite activities
• Help, give, or be kind
• Get praise for good behaviors
• Try hard at something
• Do things they're good at and enjoy
• Are included by others
• Feel understood and accepted
• Get a prize or a good grade they know they've earned
When kids have self-esteem, they feel confident, capable, and accepted for who they are.

The self-esteem of a child is a very important aspect of his or her life ,if not the most important aspect because it serves as a motivational function by making it more or less likely that children will take care of themselves amd explore their full potential.
Many at times, when growing up, they face a lot of negativity and violation of their rights which makes it hard for some of them to believe they can be someone better than what they are presently.
Lack of self-esteem is a significant developmental problem for young children today. Research conducted by Prof. Lissette Saavedra, tells us that often unhealthy self-esteem is the underlying cause of fear, anxiety, anger, panic attacks, dependence and lack of assertiveness, depression, eating disorders, addictive behaviors, relationship problems, social anxiety disorders and dependent personality disorders.
With all of this developmental problems that comes with lack of self esteem in children;
Dear Parents, Guardians and Teachers, Let us therefore do all within our capacity to help our children grow whilst having a postive mindset towards themselves always.
