*Fruit is nature's candy*

Knowledge is knowing tomato is a fruit, wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

Fruits are a good source of vitamins and minerals, and they play significant roles in preventing vitamin C and vitamin A deficiencies. People who eat fruit as part of an overall healthy diet generally have a reduced risk of chronic diseases.

Fruits are an important source of many nutrients such as potassium, fiber, vitamin C and folic acid.

This year’s Fruit Day had students research and present information on the origin and nutritional values of various fruits like Kiwi, Plum, Pineapple, African star apple, Paw paw, Watermelon, Golden melon, Pear, Strawberry, Garden egg and Oranges.

In the end, the school hopes to raise children to embrace a healthy fruit eating habit, make them conscious of the health benefits of different local and foreign grown fruits, and include fruits in their diet.
